Tired…
…but it’s a happy tired.
Went for another 2 mile bike ride today…Harley had intentions of doing it too. He probably would have made it too, if the chain hadn’t slipped off his bike.
I tried to get it back on while we were still away from the house, but couldn’t quite get it, so I rode back, got Appa, and went and picked up Harley and his bike.
When we got it back to the house, with Mum helping to hold it up, we managed to get the chain back on.
Harley went to a friend’s house for a while.
Sonja & I went to do the weekly grocery shopping.
Mum & Sonja went with me when I went to pick Harley back up.
On the way home, replanted the Cedar River Letterbox (for the 3rd time…Hopefully it stays put this time), and then went and put the Penny Bridge Letterbox back in place.
Had to do that one while trying not to get seen, as there were 5 or 6 people down at the bridge. O.o
I was trying to decide what I was going to do for art tonight, and I was going through the list of things I have for ideas…One of them is to draw on a sidewalk with chalk.
I had seen my colored chalk in my drawer the other day…We don’t have a sidewalk, but I did put the boardwalk out the other day. [Which is just a couple good sized wooden pallets.] So…I decided to pretend it was a sidewalk, and got my chalk and went outside.
Sonja came along to offer suggestions, so of course, it all started with a dolphin. She wanted to help too…So she drew the rays coming from the sun, some seaweed, and put some seagulls in the sky.
It was rough on the chalk, but it was fun.
Later on I was just relaxing, killing brain cells on a game on Facebook, and Sonja comes running in all excited. She was talking about finding ‘my’ frog, and needed me to come and see it. [A few days ago I had found one in a little puddle of water in the woods…& I was playing at being all sad when he wasn’t there the next day…Apparently it registered with Sonja more than I figured or even thought about, and she wanted to be able to show me she found ‘my’ frog…Though I don’t think it was the same one…I think this one was smaller.]
So, I follow her out, and she’s got it trapped under an old grill lid. I ended up catching him, so we could take him back to one of the water holes on the powerline.
There had been a pretty good sized one only a few days ago, but it’s almost gone now.
Sonja was then concerned about some frog eggs we had seen a couple days ago. Apparently she had gone looking for them, but couldn’t find them, and feared that the water had all dried up. I decided to go look and see for sure. I found them, but the water they were in wasn’t looking too good. 1. It was beginning to dry up. 2. There was some kind of pollution in it. *frowns* People who have no business being back on the powerline end up back there, and making a mess of things. It looks like some kind of fluid, from most likely a snowmobile, leaked out during the winter, and now it’s all over in some of the little pools of water back there.
ANYWAY…I located them, had Sonja run back to get the grill cover, scooped them up, and then the the quest for some place to put them began.
The bucket on the powerline had a huge crack in it…There was also an old discard gas can…(at least I think that’s what it use to be)…Sonja took it down the road to see if they had anything to cut the top off with…She decided she didn’t like the selection of power tools, and came back, and found the little hand saw we have.
So I used the little hand saw, and decapitated the little gas can thing. Rinsed it out (as it was on the ick looking side), then put some water from one of the other pools of water hanging around (this comes from living in a swamp)…Then got the frog eggs, and tadpoles, as some of them had wiggled their way loose.
So now, the little white ‘bucket’ is sitting in the Critter’s sled (as Sonja took it back on the powerline at one point, so she used it to haul the tadpoles back up), over by Sonja’s swingset, with who knows how many little baby frogs in it.
Almost forgot…Somewhere between shopping & going & getting Harley, I got out my crossbow and tried it out for the first time…I need practice.
& I got out my bow, and shot it a few times too…I need practice on that too.
I want a crossbow…..

Okay, well, I’m officially inviting myself to visit this summer to letterbox and use a freakin’ CROSS BOW! SWEET! I’m seriously loving all the art you’re posting on FB, it’s so cool.

(I think I need more sleep) OH! DID YOU KNOW there was going to be a gaming (tabletop) and comic arts convention in Grand Rapids this September!? I just found it yesterday randomly trying to find gaming stuff in the area… haha
