There is a special club for those who have seen it

Where to start…I haven’t updated in over a week…But there is only a couple things that are really standing out…So we’ll go with the one that is 1.) Not college & homework related & 2.) In all honesty, the more important, and mind warping of the two.

As I write this, I know some who may wander across it will harbor doubts…To them…All I have to say is…It is not possible to know all of what is out there, new things are discovered all the time…& it WAS something, because the girl does not get THAT rattled by NOTHING.

Sonja decided to go for a walk this afternoon, as it was a nice day, and as she was getting ready, I told her to take her dog with her. [Can’t help but wonder now, if I hadn’t told her to take Poochie with her, would it have been different?] I also told her to make sure she took her phone…Something we are both grateful for.

Those who are around here often should be familiar with Sonja enough to know that she’s not spooked easily. She ‘sees’ things all the time, non-tangible things. Things that I wouldn’t want to see, even being non-tangible.

I got a phone call. There was a panic in Sonja’s voice as she was asking me to come get her. The tone of her voice sent me scrambling to get moving, even before asking where she was at and what was going on.
Now, Sonja walks around here a lot, and she usually is pretty good at saying “I’m here”…or… “just past *insert landmark here*” What I got was, “I think I’m this direction of our road.”  This is how bad she was shook up, I had to ask for more specifics to know which direction to go.

The what…She seen something. This something wasn’t her usual non-tangible…This was tangible, and it scared her.

The complete tale, after some calm down time, and her ability to put things back together properly…

She had been walking with Poochie, they were a fairly good distance from home. There were some turkeys at the edge of the woods, so she let Poochie off the leash to go chase after them. She chased them into the woods, then came running back out. Sonja was hooking her back onto the leash when she looked up…And there it was. From out of the woods emerged a grey-ish brown animal, about the size of a deer, but decidedly canine in appearance. It stopped in the middle of the road, they locked eyes, and then it proceed to finishing crossing the road and disappear into the woods.

Sonja was in tears by the time we got home. This girl does not rattle easy, but this managed to do it.

I texted Mum after we got home and things were a bit more settled. Simply told her Sonja saw ‘something’. As it happened she was almost home, so when she got here, she asked me about it. When I gave her the description that Sonja had given me, I seen the look I knew I would get…A look of recognition.

Last Spring (I think), Mum was on the way to work one morning, and saw something along side the road. At first she thought it was a deer, but then she realized it had been eating something that had been laying alongside the road. Curiosity caused her to turn around…When she did, she discovered something deer sized, grey-ish brown in color, and decidedly canine looking in appearance…Which, when faced with the headlights of Mum’s car…Proceed to try and attack her bumper.

So now…Half the household has seen one of these…Whatever they are.

===============================================

Now, onto a less frightening topic, unless of course, you’re me, and have to deal with the pile of homework before me.

Storytelling: I think I have Flutterby in my head…Though I’m not confident about the four-line poem at the end, which I want to keep as a good ending. I don’t have all my props the way I would like…I don’t know how much of them I’m going to get done…I present to class on Wednesday…& our final is in public Saturday.

Math: The xylophone is done…I’ve got a song picked out, I know part of it without looking, but the second half I need the paper for. I don’t think she expects us to have it memorized…It simply isn’t likely to happen.
I still have quite a bit to do on my final…Maybe tomorrow…Depends.
I still have a few on the final portfolio to do, we haven’t covered all the stuff on it yet though.
Then there is, of course, the usual weekly work…
&…The paper that goes with the xylophone & the 3rd grade level lecture on the ear that needs written out.

World Lit: *plotting the stuffing of professor in trunk*
The 8 page paper…Due a week from Monday. I’ve read the book, have done some research…There is no writing thus far.
Tuesday, by class time, we have to have a summary of what our paper is about…Something like 350 words. O.o Really? Seriously? Why, oh why?
PLUS…the rest of “A Hundred Years of Solitude”  [I do so hate this book.]
We have to have the second third of it done for Tuesday…151 pages for this week…I’ve got 112 of them to go. Then there is another 125 for the next week.
I don’t know what kind of sadistic being saves a 419 page novel for the last 3 weeks of class, knowing bloody well that they are expecting you to write an 8 page paper at the same time! & have I mentioned… I HATE this book. If not…I HATE THIS BOOK.
Oh yeah…& there is a final in there, somewhere.

ENG 216: It’s something to do with Critical theory…Which I’m not a fan of analyzing things to death.
The 14 page paper from the abyss…Thus far, it stands at 13 1/3 pages, and it’s due Monday. I am/was actually quite happy with what I had in my first rough draft, which came in at close to 11 pages. I’m not as fond of my additions, but they were necessary to lengthen it.
We are doing some kind of game in class Monday…& having pizza! Pizza is always good.
Two weeks from Monday is our final…Which we discussed what kind of stuff we wanted on it. Hopefully it won’t be too mind taxing.

& I did so mean to note back those who noted my last entry…But intentions and what actually happens doesn’t always work.

Which reminds me…I sent out 3 cards over Spring Break…They were suppose to be Christmas cards with the Critters pictures in them. They were the ones I needed to write in, and I just hadn’t managed it.
The one is to a teacher that the Critter’s father had when he was in elementary school…I got a reply the other day, and in it a check for $150.00! ‘for expenses’. *shakes head* He is one of these people that makes me think that maybe there is hope for humanity after all. Me & Mum both had the thought that we need to get the Critters down there to see them

at some point. He’s never met them…Heck, he’s only met me twice!

Okay…Well I need sleep…Today has been full of homework & adventure.

That’s kind of freaky. Poor Sonja. I hope she’s calmed down though and glad she had the pup and her phone for sure.

That’s scary. I hope that the deer are small in your area (making a deer sized canine a little less frightening).
