The Wedding Day Events

[This was initally a three part entry…so please excuse it’s length]

Outside:

“This can’t happen.” Sirius paced outside the small chapell in London. “I can’t let her do this.”

“Sirius, mate,” Remus began. “What do you purpose to do? She made her choice. I thought you accepted that.”

The other man shook his head. “It was in uninformed decision. She didn’t have all the facts.” He turned to face Remus. “Moony, I can’t just stand here and do nothing.”

“No, you’re going to go inside, sit down, and do nothing.” Remus returned, trying to usher the man inside.

Sirius scowled, “why were we even bloody invited.”

A sigh escaped Remus, “because Raven wants us here.” He began, “she wants us to be happy for her. She’s marrying the man she loves. The man that loves her.”

“I love her damn it!” Sirius snapped back. Remus was a bit taken aback by this statement, and unsure of how to respond, continued to point Sirius in the direction of the entrance.

Inside:

Raven sat at the vanity in the bridesroom, pinning her hair up with silver combs, her purple locks hanging down to frame her face. The dress she wore was silver and white, with green accents. She had made it herself, purposely for this day. Today, she Raven Artemsisa Pegasus would marry Severus Snape. “How you doing Miss Mai?” Raya asked as she entered the room.

“I’m…” Raven smiled, turning to face her sister, “nervous.” She laughed slightly. “But happy, incredibly happy.” ~I am happy, I am.~

Raya looked at her curiously. “Is there something bothering you?”

Before she could answer there was what sounded like a bit of a scuffle outside the door. “I want to see her, I have to talk to her.”

“That sounded like Sirius.” Raven said, furrowing her brow.

The other witch nodded as she headed for the door, opening it a crack. “There is no reason for you to see her Mutt.” Severus’s cool tones cut into the conversation. “There is nothing that you could possibly say that would be of any bearing, on anything.

“Afraid to let me talk to her Snivellus.” Sirius’s voice sounded once more.

“Hardly…”

“Oh bloody hell.” Raven muttered as she stood, heading for the door as well.

Raya stopped her before she quite got there. “You can’t go out there! It’s bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the wedding.” ‘And we don’t need to be tempting bloody fate, do we.’

“I’m sure it’s bad luck for him to get into a duel before hand as well.” Raven returned.

“Raven.” Severus’s voice sounded from the other side of the door. “Do not trouble yourself. I will deal with this…”

~I don’t need you to take care of it, I’m fully capable myself.~ A sigh escaped the girl, this wasn’t how this day was suppose to go. “I’ll talk with him.”

A smug look crossed Sirius’s face as he looked at Severus. He met Raya at the door. “Behave,” she told him pointedly as they passed.

Apon entering the bridesroom, Sirius froze in his tracks, his eyes taking in the visage of the young woman before him. “You…look…beautiful.” His grey eyes didn’t waver from her.

“You wanted to talk to me?” Raven asked casually, her eyes on the floor, the vanity, the wall, everywhere but the man before her.

Suddenly she felt a hand on her cheek, as Sirius guided her face. “Look at me.” Raven’s blue eyes blinked at the man before her. “Tell me this is what you want. That this is what will make you happy.”

“I love Severus.”

A frustrated sigh escaped Sirius, “that’s not what I asked.”

“Sirius, I don’t know what you want.” Raven began. “I can’t tell you that I expect everything will be perfect or easy with me and Severus. He’s still on the run from the Minsitry. I’m having his most hated rivals child…”

“My point exactly.” Sirius cut in. “You’re having my child. It’s my seed growing inside you.”

Raven frowned, stepping back. “Don’t pretend it was anything more than chance. That I wasn’t just another in a long line of girls who fell victim to your charms.”

“What the bloody hell is that suppose to mean?”

“I know what you were like in school.” Raven began. “A diffrent girl every week. Just another conquest, another attempt at stealing a heart.”

“I was like that,” Sirius replied. “I’ll give you that. But Raven,” his grey eyes pleaded with her. “I…” he furrowed his brow, another frustrated sigh escaping.

“You what?” Raven’s blue eyes searched his face for the answer. Temptation to tap into his thoughts stirring inside her. She resisted the urge, and Sirius failed to answer her on his own. There was a long moment of silence before Raven spoke once more. “Could you send Uncle Remus in when you leave? There is something I need to ask him.”

Sirius nodded slightly, “sure thing doll. I’ll send Moony in.” A hint of defeat sounding in his voice as he headed for the door once more.

“Sirius,” he paused, his hand on the door handle, awaiting for whatever it was Raven had to say. “Thank you for coming,” she contiued, “it really means a lot.”

In a quick flash of movement, the man turned back around, crossed the room, pulled Raven into his arms, and kissed her passionatly. Surprised by the action, Raven could do little more than just stand there. “Remeber what I said before.” Sirius said, releasing her from the kiss, then left the room.

A few minutes later there was a slight knock at the door, followed by it opening slowly, “Raven?” Uncle Remus’s voice sounded as he slipped through the door. “You wanted to see me?” Raven was dabbing at her eyes with a handkercheif as she turned to face him. “Are you okay Penguin?” Concern was evident in the words. “Did Sirius say or do….”

Raven shook her head, “no, he didn’t say anything. But there is something I need to ask you.”

“What is it?”

“Well, since my Grandfather must remain in hiding at the moment,” Raven began. “I was wondering…hoping…” She chewed nervously on her lip. “Would you give me away?”

After Uncle Remus agreed to walk Raven down the isle, he went to retrieve Raya, who was standing up with her sister, as her Maid of Honor. “Now where were we before?” Raya asked as she entered the room once more.

“I was expressing my incredible, albeit nervous, happiness.” Raven started to bite into her lower lip, but found herself licking them instead, tasting the kiss that had been pressed hard against them only minutes before. “I love Severus.” ~I do.~

Raya nodded. “We all know that. Otherwise we wouldn’t be here.” Concern filled her eyes, “something is wrong, isn’t it?”

“I’m not so sure I should of invited your uncle.”

A frown crossed Raya’s lips. “What did he do?”

“Nothing, not really…Nothing he hasn’t already done before.” Raven shook her head, letting a sigh escape. “He’s just…I don’t know. Trying to unnerve me, for whatever reason.” Turning around she looked over at her sister. “I guess he’s still trying to get at Severus. I’m just a good tool.” ~He’s getting to you too.~ The girl’s mind told her.~Why else wouldn’t you look at him when he came in here.~

Raya smiled at Raven, putting a comforting hand on the younger witch’s shoulder. “Th

is is what you want, right? To marry Severus.”

“You know it is.” Raven returned, “I’ve wanted nothing more.” Her hands came to rest on her stomach. “He’s taken me back after everything. And he’ll be a good father to the baby.” ~To Sirius’s baby~ ‘I was like that.’ Sirius’s voice echoed in her mind. ‘I’ll give you that. But Raven, I…’ ~What the bloody hell was he going to say?~ A sigh escaped the girl. “I know Sirius isn’t happy about Severus going to be the one to raise his child. But I don’t know what else he expects me to do.” ~I should of looked, I should of seen what it was he wanted to say.~

A soft knock came to the door. “Raven, if you’re ready,” Uncle Remus’s voice sounded from the other side. “They’re waiting for you so we can start this wedding.”

“Well there you go.” Raven smiled. “It’s time to do this.”

“You’ve got everything?” Raya asked as they reached the door. “Old, new, borrowed, blue?”

“Old, Severus’s house ring. New, my dress. Blue,” She pulled up the dress to reveal a powder blue garter surrounding the top of her right leg. “Borrowed…” Raven bit her lip.

Raya pressed something into her hand. “I kind of wondered about that.” Raven opened her hand to look down at the silver amulet she had created to stave off her sister’s lycanthropy. “You can borrow it for the cermony.”

“Thank you.” Raven smiled, hugging her sister tightly. Taking a deep breath, she tucked the amulet away. “Okay, let’s get going.”

Caden stood outside the door with Remus as the two girls came out of the bridesroom. “I’m the flower girl.” She annoucned happily.

“Yes you are.” Raven smiled down at her niece. “Now you have to go in there,” she pointed twords the door that led to where everyone was waiting. “And let them know I’m on my way.” Caden nodded, and headed for the doorway.

Raya hugged her once more. “Come on sis, let’s go get you married.” Raven nodded, watching as Raya took her place behind Caden.

“Shall we Penguin?” Uncle Remus offered the girl his arm. “I’m sorry your Grandfather coudn’t be here to do this proper.”

Raven grinned broadly, tears threatening in her eyes. “I couldn’t think of anyone better in his absence.”

Uncle Remus smiled down at her. “Come on, let’s go make you Mrs. Severus Snape.” He furrowed his brow slightly, “do we have to?” He asked in jest.

Raven manged to laugh slightly, knowing he was joking, and leaned her head against his shoulder. “Yes, after all, we’ve got a church full of people waiting. Wouldn’t want to disappoint them.”

“If you insist then.” He continued. “Let’s go.” With that the two entered behind Raya, and began the walk down the isle.

Walking down the isle, Raven kept her gaze intent on Severus who stood at the end of it, waiting for her. ~This is really it.~ She could hardly believe it herself. Though somehow seeing him standing there in a Muggle suit didn’t seem right. ~He should be in his robes. We should be in Hogsmeade.~ A Muggle cermony was all they could have at this point, as Severus was hiding from the Ministry, and any cermony in the Wizarding world would be sure to gain attention.

The minister called the assemble group to order. “We have been invited here today to witness and celebrate the uniting in marriage of Severus Snape and Raven Pegasus. They are taking the first step of their new beginning; their new life together.”

‘Some of us have been invited here to have it rubbed in our faces.’ Sirius thought.

“The ability and desire for one human being to love another is perhaps the most precious and fulfilling gift that has been entrusted to us. It is an all-consuming task, a lifelong endeavor–the journey we’ve been preparing for all our lives.”

Raven stood beside Severus, listening to the minister, as Severus stood doing the same. Sirius sat in the front pew, Caden sitting next to him, and Remus. “You like Aunt Puppy,” the little girl whispered. Sirius nodded to the girl’s simple statement.

“Loving someone is a reason to stretch beyond our limits, to become more for the sake of the other. It is to look into the soul of your beloved and accept what you see. Loving is the ultimate commitment which challenges humans to become all that we are meant to be.”

‘Right, like I’m capable of stretching beyond my limits.’ Sirius’s mind was working overtime. ‘Like Severus is capable of it either.’ Caden rested her head on her uncle’s arm, and whispered again. “You love Aunt Puppy.” Sirius startled at the girl’s remark, and looked down at her. The little girl’s grey eyes looked up at him, almost as if challenging him to say it wasn’t true.

“As they join in marriage today, Severus and Raven are announcing to the world that they are welcoming that challenge.”

‘Wonder just how much of a challenge they are willing to welcome.’

The minister continued on with the cermony, unaware of the thoughts floating in the air of those in attendance. “Severus, do you come here today, in the presence of these witnesses, with love in your heart and with a concious desire to be united in marriage with Raven? Will you promise to share the responsibity for growth and enrichment of your life together and to give Raven all the loving support she needs to become the person she is destined to be?”

“I will.” Severus spoke.

“Raven, do you come here today, in the presence of these witnesses, with love in your heart and with a concious desire to be united in marriage with Severus? Will you promise to share the responsibity for growth and enrichment of your life together and to give Severus all the loving support he needs to become the person he is destined to be?”

“I will.” Raven answered in turn.

“I solemnly require and charge you both, as you have for joy and peace in the marriage state, if either of you know any just cause why you may not be lawfully joined together in matrimony, you do now confess it.”

‘How about the groom is a Death Eater, and as soon as this farce of a wedding is over, he’s going back into hiding, and she’s going back to my house.’ A slight giggle escaped the little girl seated next to him. “You get out of my thoughts doll, there’s things in there you don’t need to be seeing” Sirius whispered to her.

Raven and Severus both stood quietly, awaiting the continuation of the cermony. “In this state these two persons come now to be joined. If any person present can show cause why they may not lawfully be joined together, let him speak now or lese hereafter forever hold his peace.”

What should of been answered with equal silence was instead answered with movent. “Sirius sit down.” Remus whispered harshly.

“Sorry Moony, I can’t do that mate.” Sirius replied, the man’s voice gaining the attention of the couple at the alter.

Severus’s black eyes narrowed at the other man, his hand reaching to the inner pocket of his suit jacket. Raven too turned to regaurd the man. ~Oh Bloody hell, why is he doing this?~

“The bride it pregnant with my child.”

“Bloody hell.” Raven let out a frustrated sigh. “Sirius Black, what are you doing?”

The man’s grey eyes caught the girl’s blue ones. “I’m sorry doll, I really am.”

“You will be Black.” Severus’s voice cut in, his wand was drawn, aimed at Sirius.<

“Severus, don’t be foolish.” Remus stood up, approaching the trio. “You don’t want to draw any undo attention to your presence.”

The minister, looking quite startled glanced between the group. “And,” Sirius intoned once more. “He’s wanted for murder.”

“Sirius!” Raven hissed.

Severus took another step twords Sirius, Remus trying to step inbetween the two of them. By this point, Sirius too had drawn his wand. “Want to settle this like gentleman Snivellus?”

“With great pleasure Black.” Severus returned. “I’ll return you back to the other side of the veil where you belong.” The two men preparing to square off.

“Severus.” Raven turned to face him. “Please, don’t do this.”

“You’d have me stand here and do nothing, again?” Severus questioned, turning to face her. “I forgave you your tresspass with Wormtail. I forgave you for bearing Black’s bastard child.”

Severus’s words stung Raven deeply. “Oh sure, bloody well annouce to the whole church that I slept with Peter and Sirius.” Her eyes narrowed, and a scowl crossed her lips. “You killed my Grandfather!”

“Hardly, and you know the truth of that as well.”

“And you know I was only with Sirius after you broke my heart.” Tears streamed down the girl’s cheeks.

Sirius froze, this wasn’t exactly how he inteded for things to go, and he hated seeing the pain in Raven’s eyes. “I’m sorry doll…” He spoke once more. “I didn’t meant for this…I…” There was that look he had had earlier when he failed to tell her what he wanted.

“It’s a little late for that now, isn’t it?”

“I just thought that you felt the same way I did.” Sirius spoke once more, his grey eyes pleading with her.

“And how is that?” Raven snapped.

The same defeated sound reached his tone. “It doesn’t matter now, does it?”

“You bloody well ruined my wedding!” Raven screetched, “Now tell me why!”

“I love you!” Silence fell over the church.

Raven stared at him unbeliving. “Sirius…”

“Here me out, please.” The man began. “The first time I saw you, you were hovering over Severus, and I just couldn’t understand it. It drove me crazy to think someone could want him, let alone want him and resist me.” Grey eyes focused on Raven’s blue ones. “When you helped Raya bring me back from the dead…” It was at this point the minister passed out, hitting the floor with a loud thud. “I could hardly believe my eyes. This was the same girl I’d met in school, and still with Severus Snape. I thought it was impossible that he could win out over me.” Raven frowned slightly. “I know, I’m an egotistical prat.”

The girl crossed her arms before her. “You won’t get any argueement here.”

“I thought I’d made a breakthrough in Perth,” a small smile crossed his lips. “We got along, I should of been content with that. Content that we could at least be on friendly terms.” He reached out to put a hand on her cheek, Severus stepped in, cutting off the movement, wand held out before him. Sirius dropped his hand back down. “But as usual, I got the better of myself, I couldn’t resist the chance to kiss you.”

Severus’s head snapped around, looking accusingly at Raven. “You kissed him during that little family vacation of yours?”

“He kissed me, I threw a lamp at him.” Raven returned, frowning.

“And you neglected to tell me this?”

~I’ve neglected to tell you a few things.~ “I didn’t want any trouble. I knew you’d be angry, and that you’d go after Sirius if I told you.” Her eyes pleaded with him. “It was done and over. I thought it was nothing..”

“You thought it was nothing?” His black eyes narrowed at her. “What else haven’t you told me?”

Raven shook her head. “It doesn’t matter.”

“What else?” Severus’s tone was demanding. “What else has happened?”

“It’s not important.”

“It is to me!” Severus snarled, then turned to Sirius, “tell me Mutt, what else has my fiance’ kept from me?”

Sirius looked from Severus to Raven, and back to Severus. “My mind’s an open book.” He threw his arms out wide. “I have nothing to hide.”

“Sirius…” Raven turned pleading eyes at him, knowing full well that Severus would gladly take him up on the offer, as he had invaded Peter’s mind the night he returned.

The events of the past, passed between the two men. The payback for the prank, Perth, the Polyjuice potion, *insert other incidents*, as well as thier nights together. Severus’s features flinched painfully, Raven could fully imagine the scenes that were playing out to him. “You can do all this,” he turned to face her. “And say you feel nothing for the man.” Raven’s blue eyes met Severus’s ebon ones. ~Please Severus, don’t push this any further than it’s already gone. We can still selvage our relationship.~ She pleaded to him mentally. ~We’ll wait until Voldemort falls, and you’re cleared. When my Grandfather can return, and we’ll have a proper ceremony.~ “He kissed you not even thiry minutes ago.” His eyes were cold as they looked down at her, “and you offered no resistance.”

“He took me by surprise.”

“Knowing him as you do, and he took you by surprise?” The tone was accusing.

Raven shook her head slightly, “I love you Severus. Please, let’s not do this here and now.”

“I have but one question, and see if you can manage to answer it truthfully.” Severus began, “how do you feel about him?”

“Lay off her Severus.” Sirius spoke up once more, he was regretting allowing Severus such easy access to the memories he had of Raven.

Severus’s glare returned to him, with even more hatred than he’d ever felt for the man. “Mind your own business Black.

“Raven is my business.” Sirius returned. “I love her, and she’s carrying my child.” He was now mere inches from Severus, looking down at him.

“Stop it!” Both men turned to look at her. ~Why did this happen?~ Raven felt like her very world was crumbling around her. ~I love you Severus. I always have, you have to know that.~

“Yet you don’t say it aloud.” Severus replied. “How do you feel about the Mutt?” Raven’s eyes drifted from Severus to Sirius, who stood there a mixture of regret and sorrow etched onto his features. ‘I should of said something sooner. Or kept my bloody mouth shut.’ Her heart constricted painfully, tears springing to her eyes once more. Closing them, the tears slid down her cheeks, and her head dropped forward. ~I…~ “Just say it.” All the emotion had left Severus’s voice.

“Severus,” she raised her head to look at him once more. “I promised you I’d always be yours. I will honour that promise.”

Pain shown in the black eyes. “That is not what I asked.” He looked at her, silence falling over the church. “I love you Raven Artemisia Pegasus. More than I ever imagined possible. I’d rather die than see you unhappy.”

“But you make me happy Severus, you do.”

“Perhaps you should take some time.” Severus began, “when you feel you can be honest with me, and yourself…Let me know.”

Raven stepped twords him, “please don’t leave me.” Severus pulled her into his arms, kissing her once more, then releasing her, he disappated from the church. A sob tore through Raven as she watched him vanish. Stepping up behind her, Sirius, turned Raven around, wrapping his arms around her, letting

her cry on his shoulder.
