The last 3 days (or so) in a blurb

Thursday (Aug. 4th) [Alarm set for 9:30, up @ 8:30]: Despite figuring I wasn’t going to get to go down the river…Amazingly…Got to go down the river. It’s approx. 3 hours from in to out…I’m not sure how many miles. I’m really going to have to look that up one of these days. I did know once, had a map, but lost the map. *shrugs*
Didn’t see any of the wildlife that normal look for (Beavers, Otters)…But still seen a bit of wildlife none the less. There were hundreds (had to of been) Cedar Waxwings…They were all over for the majority of the trip. There was a couple spaces that they seemed to disappear for a few minutes, but then they were back in full force again. Seen an actual Raven, not just a large crow, this thing was HUGE. *smiles* There were two turtles…Same kind as Jr., but A LOT bigger. As well as a momma deer and her fawn (tho they were from a distance).

Friday (Aug. 5th) [Alarm set for 8:30, up @ 7:45]: Picked up Harley at 9 to take him to Kid’s Day at the Polish Fest. I think he had fun. When you get there, they give you a list of activities that they have set up for the kids to do. When the kid finishes the list of activities they hand in their sheet and get a prize. This year’s was a frisbee.
We were standing in line for the airbrush tattoos when Mum showed up! It was a surprise. She had realized that if she didn’t leave work early and come see us there that she wouldn’t get to see Harley until next week.
Anyway…He did a pony ride, and we rode the wagon ride (they got a new wagon, which Harley noticed and pointed out to the operator. *laughs* It’s a wooden wagon with benches, pulled by two fairly large horses). He got to hold a snake…I think he enjoyed the bounce houses more than anything else. And surprisingly, he actually got into the sawdust pile to get coins (after last week when it was like pulling teeth to get him to go into the sawdust pile in Alba to get money).

Saturday (Aug. 6th) [Alarm set of 6:30, up @ 6:30]: Went down to get Sonja from camp. I was signing the paper to check her out of her cabin when she came bounding out and attacked the Elf. *laughs* So I got 2nd hugs. *pouts* But I got lifted off the ground (which is actually the ‘norm’ any more, since she discovered she can do it). Not sure why, but she opted out of going to the closing ceremony, she says that they make her sad. [& it does get emotional.] Despite that, we still didn’t get out of there early…We spent the whole time of the closing ceremony wandering around camp looking for her lost pottery. Never did find it…But if they do find it, they are suppose to send it up to her. [Not sure what else is missing yet…Haven’t gone through all of her laundry. But she did remember last night that she found her computer cord in her one bag while down there, and the counselor took it for safe keeping & she forgot to get it back. *sigh* I sent and e-mail down there to ask if they could find it and send it up…Not sure if it will happen or now.]

I was so exhausted last night. I only stayed online long enough for Wasil to get on, so I could see him for a couple minutes. Then he chased me off to get some rest. On top of being so tired, I was suffering from some major allergies by that point and allergy meds of tired making as well.
I curled up in the recliner and slept for a little while, didn’t want to go to bed before Sonja, since it was her first night back. Slept there with not too much waking for a while, till she declared she was tired and needed tucked in.

Last night was the first in a while that I slept half-way decent. I’ve been sleeping like crap. I’ll be so tired, then get in there to sleep, and take forever, tossing & turning before finally getting to sleep. & then when I do get to sleep, I wake up several times throughout the night. Blah. I’m still feeling a bit on the tired side currently, which I shouldn’t be, as I should be well rested.

Get to go get Harley later. *smiles* He’s got College for Kids all of next week…Which means having to get up ‘early’ for the next 5 days as well. Which I suppose will be good practice, as school does start at the end of the month. *sigh* I’m so not ready to go back. I’m fairly certain the Critters aren’t either, and they go back the week after I do.

Summer has disappeared. *frowns* It’s ran off…It’s not fair. It use to seem like it lasted a lot longer…Now, now you blink and it’s gone. There is still so much I want to do before the end…There is a zoo in Lansing that I want to take the Critters to…I wanted to take them to the U.P.  Had hoped, since Harley couldn’t go with his class, that we could get over to the island sometime this summer…I had plans on taking them to Sleeping Bear Dunes and seeing what there was there to do. Suppose it didn’t help that the beginning of the summer was chilly & came with rain, rain & more rain…Then there was that stretch of too hot to go outside or you will instantly burst into flames…We still have duckies to race…We made them last summer I think, and never raced them…Now we have to wait for Mum to get back (she’s going to be gone all of this week :S).

*yawns* Maybe it’s because I don’t DO anything anymore. I sit at the computer all day, and time just slips away.

Sonja & I did make a trip to Boyne Falls last night, to walk around the flea market at the Polish Fest. She found some things…I didn’t really find anything that cried out that I needed it. *shrugs*
The night before I was figuring I wasn’t going to make it, as I really didn’t want to wander around it by myself (& hadn’t had the thought that Sonja would be here & the flea market would still be going).

All my friends live far, far away. *sigh* Aside from Mum & the Critters…I really don’t have anyone. [James is in T.C. & doesn’t come down this direction & I’m terrible about getting in touch with him when I’m in T.C. In part because I don’t really want to end up driving around following him from place to place, as he is of the ‘let’s each have our own vehicle at all times mind. *shrugs*  & As much as Reese sees me as a friend…I really can only stand her in very small doses…& her and Spoon in even smaller doses…& I’m not sure when the last time I seen her without Spoon actually happened…But point is, still not the kind of person I want to hang out with for extended period of time.]

Blah…I think this is about it for the moment…

The summer has evaporated & seemed no good for doing much of anything. We have a pool, tennis courts, basketball court, etc right at my apartment complex & it’s too hot. Every time I try to hike, it rains. I haven’t even walked over to the pool once since it opened at the end of May. Sitting in front of the computer does rob you of time & energy. It’s a wonderful thing mostly, the internet.

But it can be an easy & huge distraction at times as well. ♥

did she have a good time at camp?

August 8, 2011

Yeah time just slips away from us… I hope Sonja had fun, and glad to hear she is home safe… School… I think I will be glad when the kids go back, then we only have the littlest Monkey to deal with (until the one in the oven pops out!).
