The possible final Projects for British Lit.
1.) Some Essay I have no hope of doing, as I’m not going to bloody well read what is required to do it.
2.) See #1.
3.) Research Option…2000 words, 7-8 pages. 5 sources required.
The topic should be about something or someone from the Seventeenth Century to present.
Few possible options as listed on hand out:
17th Century: Gender, Family, Household.
Paradise Lost in Context
Restoration and 18th Century: A Day in 18th Century London.
Slavery and the Slave Trade in Britian
Romantic Period: The Gothic, The French Revolution, The Satanic & Byronic Hero [*stabs Byron in the head with an ice pick* ßOkay, so that‘s not written on the paper, but still…It sounds like a good idea to me.]
Victorian Age: Industrialism–Progress or Decline? The Woman Question
20th Century: Representing the Great War, Imagining Ireland
The Creative Options…
1.) Choose a section from Persuasion, Make Anne a modern woman, rewrite the section in script form.
2.) Write a 25th chapter to Persuasion.
3.) Compose your own sonnet sequence consisting of a minimum of twenty sonnets (280 lines)
4.) Compose a mini-epic (or mock-epic) in blank verse or rhymed couplets. (at least 280 lines)
[1 & 2 need to be 2000 words.]
This, on top of everything that’s not school related.
& the help I use to have…Not being the only one here for the Critters, so I didn’t have to attempt to do my homework, and cater to their every need…*shrugs* It’s almost non-existent at times. Doesn’t help that half the time when Mum does manage to be here, she’s muttering under her breath (tho not trying to hide it from those in the room), asking why she wants to be here. The other night I’d had enough, responded by saying ‘and that doesn’t help’.
Seriously…If it wasn’t for the Critters…I have to wonder if I would of come back last summer. I mean, yeah…I would of came back eventually…I would have had to come back for school…But prior to that? *sigh* I don’t know.
Oh yeah…There was this that I was excited about when I read it…It was on my last Children’s Lit. Module that I turned in, the one on diversity.
One of the best multicultural reviews in the class – dense with specific examples for support to legitimate, thoughtful claims. Please see the paper I have emailed back to you for full comments and feedback.
Part 1, B- Review: 100 points, Activity shows effort and provides a good understanding of characters and story and supports reasons with examples from text and novel. Mechanics are clean and appropriate. This is by far one of the best reviews, with the most depth and specific examples. Thank you. Excellent.
Oh yeah…Wasil read what I wrote last entry (as I put it up on Facebook too)…He told me it was sweet. *smiles*
Critters didn’t have school today…So they came to the college with me. It was a pretty good day. Sonja kept an eye on Harley all of my first class. He ended up calling me twice during my second class, the second time I just brought him into class with me. He was having a bad mood moment.
Ug…Have to go talk to that other dr. tomorrow. Have to get so much done, and there is next to no time to do it in. *falls over*
& My back is KILLING me.
