Runic Roleplay Things

I decided to pull runes for the four guys on my mind in Raven’s life. I’ll list the runes, not in the order pulled, but their numerological listings.

1) Mannaz: The Self…Reversed: If you feel blocked, Mannaz urges you to begin by being clear with yourself. Do not turn to others now, but look inside, in silence, for the enemy of your progress. No matter what area of your life is in disarray, stop and consider: You will recognize the outer enemy as but a reflection of what you have not, until now, been able or willing to recognize as coming from within.
Above all do not give yourself airs. Breaking the momentum of past habits is the challenge here: In the life of the Spirit, you are always at the beginning.

12) Wunjo: Joy/Light…[The only one not reversed]: This Rune is a fruit-bearing branch. The term of travail is ended and you have come to yourself in some regard. The shift that was due has occurred; now you can freely receive Wunjo’s blessings, whether they be in material gain, in emotional life, or in a heightened sense of your own well-being. This is an alchemical moment in which understanding is transmuted from knowledge. The knowledge itself was a necessary but no sufficient condition; now you can rejoice, having been carried across the gap by the Will of Heaven.
Joyousness accompanies new energy, energy blocked before now. Light pierces the clouds and touches the waters just as something lovely emerges from the depths: The soul is illuminated from within, at the meeting place of Heaven and Earth, the meeting of the waters.
There is a new clarity which may call for you to renounce existing plans, ambitions, goals. It is proper and timely for you to do so, for Wunjo is a Rune of restoration, of the self properly aligned with the Self. ****

18) Laguz: Flow/Water/That Which Conducts…Reversed: A counsel against overreach and excessive striving. Drawing Flow Reversed is a warning against trying to exceed your own strength of operate beyond the power you have funded to date in your life.
Laguz Reversed often indicates a failure to draw upon the wisdom of instinct. As a result, the intuitive side of your nature may be languishing, leaving you out of balance. What is called for now is to go within, to honor the receptive side of your Warrior Nature.

21) Thurisaz: Gateway/Place of Non-Action/The God Thor…Reversed: A quickening of your development is indicated here. Yet even in times of accelerated growth, you will have reason to halt along the way, to reconsider the old, to integrate the new. Take advantages of these halts.
If you are undergoing difficulties, remember: The nature of your passage depends upon the quality of our attitude, the clarity of your intention and the steadfastness of your will. Be certain that you are not suffering over your suffering.
Drawing Thurisaz Reversed demands contemplation on your part. Hasty decisions at this time may cause regrets, for the probability is that you will act from weakness, deceive yourself about your motives, and create new problems more severe that those you are attempting to resolve. Impulses must be tempered by thought for correct procedure. Do not attempt to go beyond where you haven’t yet begun. Be still, collect yourself, and wait on the Will of Heaven.

****[Special note. I did a reading in indication of Raven and the person for whom I drew this rune for a week or so ago. This rune came up in that spread as well]

And now…I suppose I shall list the guys as well…We’ll go in…Alphabetical Order…Last names? *shrugs* No…Let’s go with first names…Okay, sounds like a plan. *laughs* [*looks at sentence* Was I just bloody well talking to myself?]

I still need to come up with something for Raven to do doing tonight…Tis our last night in the past…There has to be something. *rolls eyes* Oh Gods no…I think it’s the pest returning. *headdesk* *laughs*

Speaking of pests returning…My Critters should be home soon. Which means…If Mum is close behind…I’ll have to be making dinner soon as well…Though I’m not sure what we are going to have with it…Mum brought home hamburger buns last night, wanting burgers…So…Hmmm…I’ll have to go find something to go with them.

Well…I’ve got to go read something, then go do something else. *wanders off*
