Playing catch up…Yet again…
I owe notes, I know…I suck at this at times. *laughs*
Ug…Been a week again already…Oh well, this shall be short, most likely.
Monday…Went down the main campus to get my books. My allergies were killing me. Blah. So I wasn’t feeling best, which sucks. Harley was not in a walking mood, which was a bit troublesome. Library was divided strangely, & with Harley being cranky & my allergies, didn’t really want to fight with sorting it out (made for disappointed Sonja.) Harley was freaked out by the size of the bookstore…So we didn’t wander that either…I would really like to go back down when I’m feeling up to it, and Harley isn’t freaking out.
I had wanted to walk around the ‘tree park’ they have. (There is some formal name that starts with an A, but I can’t pronounce it, let alone think about spelling it. Wandered a tiny portion of it. Considering it is 7 acres, it was a VERY tiny portion of it.
Found the ‘Little Mac Bridge’ and walked across it. Then end of the first crossing helped to make Sonja feel all kinds of better, as her day was made. She seen, in real flesh and blood, her first Transvestite. & to top it off, we were sort of spoken to. Harley said he didn’t want to go back across the bridge (as I foolishly pointed out that the bridge moves…It sways a bit, but you can only really feel it if you are standing on the edge of it)…& declared he was going to walk down the ravine to go back across. I declared the boogeyman lived under the bridge…& the Transvestite declared he/she was the boogeyman. *laughs* It was great, and yeah…It made Sonja’s day.
On the list of things we seen that we hadn’t seen before…We seen a plane crop dusting on the way home…That was pretty cool too.
Tuesday…Mum went in for her surgery…We didn’t do much…Sonja wanted to go up and see her, but she also took some allergy medicine, and it knocked her out. I talked to Mum, and she said she wasn’t expecting us to come up that night anyway. & she was mostly sleeping anyway.
Wednesday…Went to get stuff for Critters school stuff…Harley has a whole new outfit. & most of his supplies (only needs a pencil case…& maybe gym shoes…Although gym is not on his class schedule list, so I don’t know).
Sonja is having a heck of a time finding shoes or clothes…I feel so bad for her. She’s having a time like I usually do when I actually have money to spend. She did however find a briefcase (for not too much even), so that has made her happy. [She’s using a briefcase instead of a backpack, & she swears it will help keep her organized. I do so hope so.]
Thursday…Critters left with their Aunt Katie…They are going camping with her & Grandma Kathy in the U.P.
They are heading up there today, and will be back Sunday. Hopefully they will have good weather, it was raining pretty good yesterday.
Today…*looks around* I still need to pack. *headdesk*
I’m in total hate all my clothes mode.
I don’t know what I want to wear when I’m here and have access to all of them, let alone having to pick out what I need to pack so I will have what I want for the next week!
Oh yeah…Almost forgot…Sonja wants me to read a series of books that she’s read & is really into…She gave me 3 of them to take with me, and try to kill time during my layover @ O’Hare.
Then she was rummaging around in my closet looking for books to take with her, as she doesn’t have any of her own to take apparently. She was trying to dig in a crate I have up on the one shelf, which really doesn’t have much of real reading material in it. I was ushering her out of the closet when I looked up and the long white box caught my eye…Then I pointed and told her, "That box is full of DragonLance books." She didn’t baulk, and actually seemed interested. Perhaps…It is time…I reached up and dug around inside it, and after a bit produced the ‘first’ 3 books of the series (The first 3 that were written, the first 3 that I read…Chronologically they gave preludes and some other sets that come ahead of the original books).
Well…This got longer than I was expecting.
ANYWAY…
Have to pack & do everything else I need to do before leaving, as I’m leaving tomorrow for a week in St. Louis with Wasil. *smiles*
