NoJoMo #18: It’s about Chocolate…To start anyway
Information I took out of a magazine…
Prone to dry skin?
Sip more hot chocolate!
It’s not only warming and comforting, it’s great for your skin! Credit goes to its bounty of natural chemicals called flavanios, which increase blood flow to the skin, delivering nutrients and oxygen that plump and moisturize. The result: you literally look younger, German research shows. Even more important: Cocoa compounds strengthen the body’s ability to shut down inflammation, making skin less prone to the aging and reddening effects of harsh winter air!
Hot cocoa boosts energy!
Need a pick-me-up? Skip coffee and sip cocoa! It’s packed with theobromine, a stimulant that won’t cause the jitters like caffeine does! Plus, it has phenylethylamine, a hormone that speeds oxygen to the brain, making you a quick thinking dynamo!
Chocolate helps your heart!
Chocolate has such powerful heart-protecting benefits that cardiologist Michael Ozner, M.D., author of The Miami Mediterranean Diet, actually encourages his heart patients to indulge — especially in dark chocolate! "It contains compounds called flavonols that prevent heart attacks and strokes by increasing blood flow to the heart, decreasing bad cholesterol and working like aspirin to reduce platelet stickiness!"
Tip!
Dr. Ozner recommends the Dove Bar and the CocoaVia Bar because they’re packed with heart-healthy flavonols!
Raven’s essay on Chocolate from 2005
Okay…Now, stepping away from the wonders of Chocolate. Though it is soooo yummies.
My back is on the achy side…But it’s not the usual ache for the most part. Instead, it’s a good ache. *laughs* Left over from yesterday’s workout…Planned on doing it again Sunday…But I’ve managed to misplace my tape. *rolls eyes at self* It’s got to be right here somewhere. Did the one yoga tape tonight…*wants to beat the guy for being so flexible* I do need to get more flexible…I use to be…*pokes body for attempting to age* Nooooooo! Tis not allowed! It did help with some of the ache from yesterday’s stuff though.
I picked up some stuff to work on…*shudders* Yule present(s). One block of Sculpey, for starting on the ornament for the Critter’s classes. I might have to get some cookie cutters too…The ones I’ve been using are plastic, and are starting to break, badly. Actually, they’ve been falling apart the last couple years, but I was trying to make them last. Think I might have to invest in some metal ones. I’m also thinking of just using a circle of one set this year, and making them look like the balls you hang on the tree.
I think there might be a mouse…*looks at Nero acting weird(er than usual)* I’m not allowed to have normal animals…Nopes…We have a female cat, who apparently can’t catch a mouse to save her life…And a male cat, who thinks he is ‘SuperMouser’. [*has since renamed him WindowCling* Stupid cat anyway.]
Anyway…Also stared cutting out felt to make these little bag things. I was going to make them last year, but time seemed to disappear on me. I’m in the mood for making things apparently. I want to dos stuff, not just sit around and do nothing. [And amazingly, I’ve already started on my next English project too! Though not formally…I have notes here and there…Will be asking you lot for some thoughts in a bit.]
Also picked up something else for Mum for Yule…A 2-disc set of *shudders* Christmas music. It’s by Toby Keith…So it should make hers of the happies.
I’m also looking for a new name for my Naruto fanfic character…Just not happy with the Hotaru. [Not that it’s gotten any further than it was.]
Also need to work on some of my partial RPG entries. *nods* Yeps, I needs to be doing thats. I have two for the end of December / beginning of January started…And a couple more in mind.
Thinks that’s about it for the evening…Though I’m sure there is something I’m missing. *shrugs* Oh well…That just means that it’ll be something to write about later if I remembers what it was. *nods*
Hmmm, Now im craving chocalte =P

*knows what it is you forgot to mention* StarPeople! O.o! I shall save that information on chocolate & remember it. Those are very goods of the benefits to eating / drinking chocolate. *nods* Dark chocolate, too! *smirks* Yay for aches of the good kind! *nods* Much better than those of the bad. *Accio tape* *laughs* Yule will be here before we know it. Sheesh! Time is…flying. *shakes head* Not that I’m not excited, but I’m also a little of the sads. Still, yay for holidays and the making of things! Yay for Christmas music! Hehehe. [Gods, don’t I know how you feel…wanting to do something instead of sitting around doing nothing. *sighs* As I was saying on messenger earlier… I feel so lazy of late…] *pokes name not wanting to play nicely* Am sure you’ll come up with a good one! *nods* RPG is love! *grins* *HUGS*

Was that article from Women’s World, by chance? They tend to use a lot of exclamation points for everything. And now I really want a cup of hot cocoa.

Dark chocolate has antioxidants, which are excellent for your skin as well. I’m sure you knew that. Green tea has lots too and plums. Oh, there are these things called ‘Plum Sweets’ by Dole or something like that…dried plums dipped in dark chocolate. They are excellent! *hides from the holidays* They are really scaring me this year. I think it’s cause of the mall… *hugs*
