July 1999 [prior to the new roleplay]

Gripping the black interwined snakes that made up the hilt of the small dagger, Raven flipped it back and forth in her hand, trying to get a feel for it’s weight. Her nerves were starting to creep up apon her, but she knew she couldn’t allow it. Slipping the double-edged black handled knife back into it’s sheath, and clipping it to the belt she now wore, she turned back to Raya as she spoke. “We should Side-Along Apparate, thus, Cole won’t hear two popping noises, just in case he’s in his office or somewhere near the common room.” She reached out her hand for Raven to take, the other girl’s blue eyes showed the mixed feelings that were causing conflict within her. “Sis?”

“Raya…” She was chewing nervously on her lip. ~We’re about to commit cold-blooded murder.~ Not wanting anyone who might happen by to over hear them, the girls used telepathy to speak to one another. Raya’s hand rested on Raven’s shoulder, giving it a squeeze. ‘Just remeber, it’s for the good of witches and wizards, everywhere.’ Raven knew her sister was right. ‘We don’t need another Dark Lord reigning after Tom. We know this is what Cole plans to do.’ A cold chill sat apon her, the Dark Lord they had now was bad enough, she didn’t want think about what Cole would be capable of. ‘I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to be held responsible for what would happen if we allowed Cole to live.’ Raven slowly nodded. It had to end, if they didn’t do something about it, no one else would until it was too late.

The girl’s fingers wrapped together and they Apparated to Black Manor’s common room. A moment later Raven was cast invisble by Raya’s spell, and her sister motioned for her to follow her up the near-by stairs. It felt like butterflies were attempting to take flight in her stomach. They stopped outside a doorway. ‘Raven?’ ~I’m right behind you, sis.~ Reaching out, Raya’s hand rested on the doorknob a moment before turning it, and pusing the door open just enough to peek inside. ~Go on, sis, there’s no turning back…~ They both knew this was something that had to be done. Raya nodded before pushing the door open the rest of the way and stepping inside, Raven making sure to follow closely. “Happy Birthday, Cole.”

Coleridge Black spun around to see Raya, having been taken by surprise at the sound of her voice. A devilish grin appeared on the man’s lips as he crossed the room, his eyes gliding up and down the body of the witch he could see before him. “Raya, what a pleasant surprise.” ~Yeah, we’ll see how pleasant of a surprise it really is.~ Raven thought, once more chewing nervously on her bottom lip. “What, may I ask, is the reason for you visit?”

Reaching out Raya ran her fingernails across Cole’s shirtless chest. Raven had to surpress the shudder that she felt, she coudn’t even begin to imagine how her sister must be feeling. “It’s your birthday, Cole, and I am your gift.” ~Ewwww.~ The older witch crossed the room, sitting down on the bed and beckoning the man to her, which he did quickly and without hesitation. Reaching inside her robes Raven’s hand wrapped around the hilt of the dagger, and she drew it from it’s sheath. Her clenched fingers rested close to her chest as she continued to adjust her grip.

Raya had the man’s pants unfastened, and pushed down, as Raven walked slowly across the room twords the couple. Coleridge’s fingers worked quickly on her sister’s robe, unbottoning them he laid down on top of her, kissing her. Taking a deep and steadying breath, Raven finished crossing the room, until she stood beside the edge of the bed. ~This has to be done. For the good of everyone involved~ Raven’s arm rose up, her eyes focusing on the bare flesh of the man before her. She was readying to strike when he sat up abruptly, causing Raven’s breath to catch in her throat a moment. Her target was now closer. Coleridge bent slightly over Raya, obviously enjoying this moment with Raya. ~Enjoy it well, as it’s about to be your last.~ Taking another deep breath Raven aligned herself with the knowledge that this is what must be done. Gripping the handle tightly, her thumb rested on the end of the hilt, and with a quick motion, and using all the strength she possessed, Raven plunged the thin blade into the man’s back.

Cole’s breath caught in this throat as the jabbing pain seized him, he sat further up. Blood seeped out from around wound as Raven withdrew the blade, and plunged it into his back once more. Raya rolled off from the bed and out of his reach as he began to flail wildly, Raven too back up out of the man’s reach. Somehow he managed to mutter a spell to end the charm that Raya had placed on Raven, revealing her. Cole looked between the two girls, confusion shown in his silver eyes. “How?” It was barely a hoarse whisper, followed by blood bubbling up over the man’s lips, and one last ragged breath before he fell forward onto the bed.

Raven stared, unblinking at the corpse that lay mere feet before her, blood covered her right hand, which was growing sticky as it congealed. “Raya.” Raven’s lips and voice trembled as she spoke her sister’s name.

The older girl’s wrapped around her. “It’s okay Raven.” She soothed out the girl’s hair, holding her tightly. “It had to be done.” Raven nodded, a slight whimpering noise escaped the younger girl’s throat, as she nodded slightly. “Let’s get you home and cleaned up.” Raya let go of her for a moment, going to retrieve the snake hilted blade. Wrapping her arms around her sister once more, the two disappated from Black Manor.

[Don’t all breath too big of a sigh of relief…As Coleridge had a Horcrux, and he will be back…As seen in the next entry.]
