It’s another day of cancellation.
Blah! It was in the 40’s here last night and raining…This morning we get 19 and more snow. We also get the school closed, I’m guessing on account of slippery roads, as the rain probably did some wonderful things to them last night. To celebrate their day off…Harley is at the computer (are we surprised?) & Sonja was outside, but just came in from the freezing cold.
Went to put lights on the tree last night. They are all dead. O.o The one string we’ve had for years…Since before I graduated high school! So yeah…It was about due to go. And it’s not like the whole thing was going, half of it was still trying. The other string…I don’t know what happened to it, it just decided to die. *kicks it*
Anyway…I picked up three strings of lights into Family Dollar. Two are the same kind, look a bit like the old fashioned lights that they use to have, the ones you had to worry about leaving on too long cuz they’d get too hot, and might set the tree on fire…But they are plastic coverings, not actual glass bulbs…They have a crystal kind of cut to them too…They are kind of pretty. The other set are white, but have coloured plastic bells that slip over them…They also have a music box (that for a while I wasn’t sure how to shut it off) that plays the beginning parts of Christmas songs. [I think it was annoying Sonja last night, as she would just start singing one song and it would change on her. *laughs*]
I have half a dozen cards that need mailed yet ( I mailed the bulk of them out Friday), but I am out of stamps. Also have a letter to Friend of the Court that needs mailed out (Yeah, I’ll get to that.), and a couple packages.
Letter to Friend of the Court. *growls @ the idiot* I really wish he’d just fall off the face of the planet, really. Sonja told me that her father wouldn’t let her call me this week-end, which is in direct violation of the custody agreement. [So I’m hoping that does something in and of itself.] Secondly, the reason Sonja wanted to call…Her idiotic father decided she was lying (taking the step-sister’s word over hers) so he shoved a bar of soap in her mouth! [I told her to tell the consular at school about it today…But as school was cancelled she couldn’t. L
Harley was also suppose to tell him that his father told him if he misbehaved one more time he was going to spank him with his belt! *growls* I really, really, really hate that man. Heck…Mum has moved him to the top of her ‘people I hate list’…Even above the abusive ex she had.]
I think most of my Christmas shopping is done. J I just need a few more little odds & ends…Which if the weather cooperates, I’ll be getting tomorrow after Mum gets out of work. She’s suppose to come home and watch the Critters while I head for T.C. I need books for everyone…Mostly because I really do want to get Sonja another Warriors book…& if I can find a Dean Koontz one my Mum hasn’t read (it’s kind of traditional to get her one if I can find it)…So I figured me and Harley could benefit from a book a piece as well…Then of course, there is the whole needing to get some chains for Sonja’s Tripp pants…And something equalivant for Harley…Though I’m not sure what as of yet.
I want to do something creative with the Critters today…So Harley isn’t sitting at the computer all day…I’m not sure what though that will hold his attention, as he’s not the hands on type for the most part. [I still think it’s because he’s got that whole perfectionist thing going on, and he flips out when he makes even the tiniest error. [Last night, for example…*sigh* He was working on a Christmas card, and the dot to his i, and his i, ran together…He started to have a meltdown. I can’t remember how he phrased it now, but it was followed by something like “I never do anything right” or “I always mess things up”. *shakes head* It took a bit to calm him back down. Told him it showed that it was handmade, and that people like handmade things because that means the person giving it had to put thought and care and time into it. Seemed to help…He at least finished the card without needing a replacement.
Speaking of flipping out. O.o OMGs…Sonja & Harley were with me when I went to get Christmas lights. Harley went to look in the toy section. He seen a set of ninjas that he HAD to have. He was freaking out over them big time. It took me a bit to get him to calm down about how cool they were, and being upset over me saying I wasn’t going to buy them. But it does let me know one thing…It was a very good buy when I picked them up the other day. So I know Harley will be quite happy over at least one of his presents.
Mum tried to use Amazon.com last night…I’m not sure what she did, or didn’t do, but it didn’t go through. *pats her on head* She gets so frustrated so easily over such things. *sigh* *huggles her*
Well…I think that’s about it for this point in time.
Oh I’m about ready to fly up to your neck of the woods, ice and all, and bring my ass beating stick for that dick of a father. He won’t let Sonja call you? He put soap in her mouth? Threatened Harley with a belt? Oh yes, an ass beating is LOOOOOONG overdue!Light of heart,
