It was a day…or something. *laughs*
Okay…*tries to keep thoughts straight* I’m sure I’ll forget something.
Got to bed @ 6AM Saturday morning. Was on phone til 5…Harley woke up 4 and didn’t lay back down til 6. Was up at 9:30…then again at 11:30. Oh so interesting, I know. *laughs*
June 24th was the Great American CampOut…And I had good intentions. I’d forgotten about it earlier, and wasn’t sure if I was going to dig the tent out when I did remeber. Sonja brought it up, and as she already suffered one disappointment today, I wasn’t about to let her have to suffer through another one. (The pet had told her last week-end that he was going to take her to go fishing on Loren’s boat. Well that didn’t happen…not that we are all surprised, I’m sure.) Got my tent out and set up…aside from no tent stakes…*takes a trip for tent stakes (which I will explain that fun trip in a minute)* *came back from fruitless tent stake trip* Decided that if the air matress is in there and blown up, the tent shouldn’t go anywhere. So do that. Put up the kids little tents that Mum’s friend Steve gave them. (I guess he bought all his boys one a couple years back, and all the boys have outgrown them, so he gave us one for each citter.) Got the grill going. Cooked hotdogs, the proper way. On a stick over the coals….Okay, so not quite the proper way, as it should 1) be a blazing bonefire and 2) be actual wooden sticks, with the tips widdled down into points to hold the dogs, instead of those metal pesudo-fork things. Anyway…That was a first for the kiddies. I think they enjoyed it. Had intentions of doing the whole marshmallow roasting thing, and making real S’mores…but didn’t get to that part. The wind started picking up…and it looked like it was going to rain (which they were calling for storms). So, in a moment of, ‘Ah! Don’t want to get wet or blown away’, as the kids tents don’t have stakes either…we pulled up camp (which had just been in the front yard anyway *laughs*). Just took the kids tents in, still put up. So that is where they are suppose to be sleeping…Sonja has just declared she’s going in grandma’s room…Harley is passed out on the air matress. So I think I’ll collapse both thier tents in a bit.
Now…The ill-fated trip into town for tent stakes. *headdesk* Well, when I went to do the shopping today, the Check Engine light came on on my Jeep…But after it was shut off for a while it didn’t come back on at all. *shrugs* Anyway…After that trip, did the tent thing, realized no stakes, so head into town. About 4 miles form home, just as one enters town…turns the corner off the one main road onto the second main road and…*is surrounded in a poof a grey-ish while ‘smoke’* So, it’s off the side of the road, kill the engine, and have the horrid thought that my radiator has gone. Call Mum, tell her as much, she says she’s on her way. BEFORE I even hang up, there is a cop behind me with her lights flashing. O.o Shoo! Do you NEED the bloody lights? I mean really. *dies of embaressment* Amazingly enough, I can manage to get my hood open (the pull-thing [got to love those technical terms] is broke, and not easy to open most the time), and start looking around. Luckily…radiator still loves me. There was just a little split in the radiator hose. Good sameritans who watched the scene unfold from McDonald’s came to see if they could be helpful, while the cop call another one, to see if they figure I have enough fluid left in my Jeep to get it to anywhere. Good sameritans fixed the hose, with help of cop #2. So Jeep is fixed, yay! Finished on my way to the store, and instead of going in to look for tent stakes, went in for Anti-freeze. So filled with Anti-freeze and water, Jeep is happy again. Neither store right there had tent stakes. So…I’m still stakeless. *laughs*
Oh yes…how could I forget, a highlight of my day. My loverly hair is back to it’s proper shade. Tis a wonderful purple once more. *grins* Despite it not being a color of hair found in nature…I can’t help but feel this is the color I’m suppose to have. And OMGs…It was like everyone was noticing it today…I don’t think I’ve ever been complimented s many times in one day over my hair! And this was just a trip through Wal-Marts to do the shopping. Just think if I had a real life, and went out into real public. *laughs*
Well, as I know I have notes to answer as Raven…I must run off and do my duty. *laughs*
I’m glad your jeep was okay! Yay for helpful people! *needs money* I’ve been struck by the spending bug, or something. Now, I want highlights for my hair! *laughs* But yay for your purple! Your campout/cookout sounded fun!

*smiles* maybe you were supposed to have it that colour. i know that i LOVE telling people with really cool hair that i love it. they always look so startled when this fat very vanilla looking TEACHER says things like that. *laughs*
Warning Comment
yay for purple hair.

*dies of embaressment* I can’t imagine anyone with purple hair ever being embarrassed. You might be bare-assed or have a bear chasing your ass, but never embarrassed. lmao Please get the repaired hose replaced. Be well, my friend.

Awesome that people helped you. Can’t always count on that much anymore… OR that they’ll be safe people helping you out. Glad it wasn’t serious though. 🙂

I could sooo go for a cookout! That sounds like fun! Plus, I’m starving! Glad the Jeep is all better. *pets Slytherin Jeep* It is just too awesome to be sick. lol.

yay for cool hair :o)

^^Purple hair does not prevent embarrassment, Greywolf. I had fire-engine red-and-black hair earlier this year and still managed to make an ass of myself. Not because of the hair, because I fell flat on my face in the middle of the hallway. ~
