I think my brain broke…

…Which would be bad, as I’m going to be in serious need of it. O.o

Okay…Tuesday we handed in our Senior Thesis Proposals. The Professor said he would try and get some kind of response to us this week-end.
I’ve been checking my e-mail, waiting to see what kind of criticism I was going to receive. Especially considering I just kind of wrote it that morning, because I didn’t want to have nothing to turn in, and I figured I was going to need all the help I could get to get my thoughts sorted out.
Finally got a response tonight, and it wasn’t what I was expecting…It was as follows:

Of all the thesis proposals I’ve received — and in both sections I’m teaching, here in TC and downstate in Allendale — yours is the one that strikes me as the best. It’s creative, imaginative, and ingenious — all characteristics of who you are. And more vitally, it’s an intriguing and wise application to your teaching career. You lay out the entire concept succinctly and engagingly in your proposal.

So: perfect. Just simply perfect. Plunge onward. I’m not quite sure which of my colleagues I’ll be linking you with just yet — it might be David Alvarez or Sherry Johnson, if we focus on the trickster figure, or it might be Amy Masko or Rob Rozema if we lean toward secondary teaching practices. Right now, I’m leaning toward Rob, just because he’s so incredibly creative and inventive in his teaching practices. Your thoughts?

Nice work, Jenn. I never cease to be amazed by your imagination and ingenuity."

So…Yeah…Now I’m just that a bit more stressed, as trying to now live up to these expectations. *falls over*

At least I do have quite a few articles already printed off that cover half of what I’m looking at…Now I just need to locate some actual Trickster as Teacher stories…Which hopefully won’t be too difficult. Shouldn’t be, they have them in just about any & every culture. So yeah…

Still trying to sort out my music thought for my MAT 300 lesson.
I can’t shake the journey idea…I’m just worried about parent/administration reaction…Which, yeah, at this point, not something I need to worry about…I need to worry about my teacher’s reaction. I still have quite a bit to do for that class this week…We started using the book, which means more homework. Blah. [Add to it that I spent quite a while yesterday scanning the most important pages, & typing up the discussion questions & practices for one of the girls in class, as she wasn’t in class Thursday, and hasn’t gotten the book yet.]

Went to TC today and toured the former State Hospital. I would have liked to get to go into more buildings, and more tunnels…But as it is, it was an hour and a half tour.
Sonja wasn’t feeling well…Mum had come home from work sick yesterday, and wasn’t feeling 100% today…& Harley was starting to complain of being hungry & his feet getting sore. Oh well…I got to go, and see, & it was still awesome.

So, yeah…Tomorrow, on top of having to go shopping for weekly groceries, I need to get back to reading articles for ENG 495 & sorting out everything I need to do for MAT 300…Which is actually quite a bit. *falls over*

hey, congratulations and i am so excited for you! *hugs you* i can’t wait to see what you come up with. see, not only your friends think you are great, so do your teachers!

Congrats on such a great response to your proposal! That’s awesome. And I loved your photo of the state hospital. Those places both intrigue me and frighten me (as there’s a slight chance I could end up in one, one of these years). Light of heart,
