I lived…And a proposal
Though perhaps not in that order…
Firstly, I beg a favour from the lot of you.
As previously mentioned, my upcoming English essay is about vampires in literature. [Mainly because it’s the only way I could get my loverly Polidori in there.]
One of the points I want to touch on, of course, is their popularity throughout the years. Nearly 200 years, and still going strong! *laughs*
Anyway…Prior to Polidori’s introduction of the aristocratic handsome vampire, they were seen as ghastly, ghoulish, rotting corpses of peasants, rising from the grave. Now…Had Polidori not changed the vampire’s image…Would there still be that staying power?
So I pose this question, to all you rabid vampire fans…IF the vampire was still the rotting ghoul of folklore…Would you still be/have an interest in them?
Anyway…On to other things.
Tonight was the Plant Family Presentation in Plant Biology…I called Mum at five o’clock, asking her if I could come home. I so didn’t want to be there…Though I’ve had nothing but support, of which I is much grateful for. It helped, kept telling myself that I had people who knew I could do this. Raya, my darling sister, the sweetheart that she is, even called me this morning before I left for school, to remind me that she knew I could do it. *hugs her*
I was the next to last person to go…My choice…Well, actually I was going for last, but someone else snuck in there. Still, after watching almost all the other presentations, I was feeling better toos…As some of them weren’t very good, didn’t seem very thought out or planned…So I knew I wasn’t alone. There was one that even had technical difficulties.
I was worried I would be the only one going low tech…But it was about 50-50 actually.
This was also the first class that had the other teacher. So she had us all tell our names, our majors if we had one, and our hobbies. Mine of which I said was writing…Got as far as saying roleplay/fanfiction…Going around the room another person in class said writing as well, expanding onto writing for Forgotten Realms. [A D&D world like DragonLance…Though it focus’s more on Vampires & Undead…Werecreatures too maybe…Never read any of them myself…Although there is a couple DL cross over books with Lord Soth & Kitiara that I would like to read.] This lead the teacher back to asking me if it was similar for me, to which I replied that I had started out writing DragonLance a few years back, but I was now writing Harry Potter. After class the guy who writes Forgotten Realms asked me how I managed to go from one to another…Which admittedly is quite a difference. *laughs* Tis a case of people disappearing…[But I am glad, as even though I hold very fond and dear memories of my time in the DragonLance communities, and writing there…I am more than happy to be here writing Harry Potter, and having been able to meet the people that I have because of it. After all, I found my sissy here! Even if the Fates were trying to hide her from me and keep us separated…We showed them! *laughs*]
You know…I hadn’t thought about it till I was writing this…But I didn’t clam up and get quiet when the guy came to talk to me. I actually talked to him…All the way from the classroom to the parking lot. *blinks* *wonders who was in control of the brain* *laughs* Most of the time when people talk to me…I give the shortest answers possible, and attempt to escape, feeling uncomfortable. I actually told him I’ve declared myself a perpetual 16 year old! *laughs* *shakes head at self* Guess I was just relieved to have survived the presentation. *laughs*
Let’s see…Anything else?
Bill is coming over tomorrow to see if he can change the tail light on Mum’s car. I should take the opportunity to cook something. *nods* I was suppose to make stuffed cabbage, as I don’t have school, and will be here to eat with the family. I forgot to get the stuff, as it had slipped my mind…I remembered nows…I’ll have to go into town and get some of the stuffs though.
Also have to write English essay rough draft…
*pokes at FYE store in mall* I used them to cut through the mall, as it’s the closest outside door to the bookstore. They had a flyer up in the window announcing that they are having a special thing going on, on the 21st. One of the things has to do with Cosplay [Costumed Play…Dressing up (usually as an anime) character]…The Critters are suppose to be with their father-thing this week-end though…I know they would of enjoyed such.
Speaking of their father-thing…*rolls eyes* He called this morning to see if it was okay if he picked up the Critters Wednesday after they get out of school. [They only have half a day.] Which if he’s able to do such, pretty much makes the statement that he’s still jobless. [Tianna was all set to watch them too…Blah. *kicks him*]
Also learned that even though green Monster is drinkable…It does nothing for me in the lines of giving me energy. The guy who had ginseng in his plant family brought in Monster for everyone.
*pokes at new teacher* At least she takes notice when I stand in waiting for a question to be answered. *mutters about the previous teacher seemingly to not notice I was there most of the time* Might as well of been invisible. Which I don’t mind most of the time…But when I have a question that needs answered, it’s nice to register on the radar.
Well, I do believe that’s it.
I think no, I won’t have the ‘exceptional’ interest in the vampire if they were rotting corpses and all. I admire the being because it reflects being paranormal together with being skilled and talented. They are associated with loneliness, beauty and art. If you read novels by Anne Rice, the vampire Maurice is a writer and an artist – that is what I am all about *winks*

I noticed that same thing about the Monster energy drink. I’ve had a couple, though they are of the yummy, they don’t do anything for me. I’m glad this teacher seems to be more helpful and noticing of my sissy. *hugs* Yay for RPG and FanFiction!! Harry Potter is the greatest. *grins* *hugs* Wouldn’t have met you if it hadn’t been for it. ‘Tis a good thing, too, thatI came back when I did. *nods* *more hugs* Aw, that will be of the niceness…to fix a nice meal for the boy. Yay for eating foods w/ the family! *burns down college* *hugs* *grins* Yep. I knew you could do it! You survived && all is of the goods! You even talked to a person for a while afterward. Hehe. Do you remember what I said about the vampire? Does I need to repeat? *lol* *Hugs*

I dont think I’d know about vampires if they weren’t made out to be the way they were. I think the fact they are described as they are does make them more interesting but if they werent described as that in the first place I doubt they would’ve gotten much air time on the whole tale weaving nice to know you’ve got a buddy to chat to, of sorts 🙂 and the presentation went without a hitch! YAY! hugs

Yay, good job on the presentation and not clamming up and all that good stuff. I have to stay away from energy drinks entirely. I don’t think it would mesh well my my hypoglycemia.

Well…zombies are still popular…though not really the same appeal. When I think of zombie I think of one of those cheesy horror movies…so yes, I think the Vampire image is important to there popularity. hurray for meeting interesting strangers and doing presentations.

perpetual 16 year old is fun 🙂 and you have a friend now, same interests and whatnot that must be nice *prods vampires* any kind of folklore interests me so vampires would still intrigue me lol energy drinks don’t do much for me but eating mint imperials just send me on a serious sugar rush i should stop heh xxx
