Have no idea what to entitle this…

*is watching CLUE* and has come to the conclusion that Tim Curry is one of those guys who needs a bit of facial hair. *laughs* Though CLUE is whole entertaining, as it is completely insane. *grins*

Well Mum informed me this morning that I need a costume…as she has decided to let me tag along to the Lexi Gras party! Yay for puppy dog faces. *laughs* Everytime she brought it up after mentioning that one of the people at her shop said she should bring me along, and that I decided that I might want to go, I’d get all pouty looking. Suffering from the lack of backbone that I do…and not having enough nerve to ask her if I could go. She’s taking me so I can take pictures…and if all else fails, and I decide I don’t want to be there…*hugs laptop* I’ll be hiding out in the hotel room, and hoping like hell I can get internet access. Otherwise…I’ll have to have the entry that’s written for that night saved…and someone will have to be nice enough to put it up for me. *smiles at sister dear* As the night I’ll be going to the party is also the night of the ‘Polyjuice Potion incident’. (Said night is April 29th)

May 13th I’ve also got plans…though I’ll be back at home before too late, I’m sure. It’s the yearly Firemen’s banquet thing. They all gather together, babble about whatever is new or what not…*shrugs* I don’t know, last year I was writing roleplay entries on a napkin. *laughs* I think I’ll take a little notebook with me this year. The highlight (aside from, ‘Hey they feed us’, is their ‘awards’ assembly. They do have the usual, normal awards, but on top of it, they give out awards for ‘bloopers’ throughout the year, or other such things. For example…After the pet passsed his Fire Safety one class he was so exicted he ‘danced a jig’ so he got a little plague that said something about that. One of the other Firemen, who, from what I’ve gathered, is always coming up with useful tools out of no where…or off his ‘utility belt’…they nicknamed Batman….Last year he got a thing of bubble bath in a Batman container, and a pair of sunglasses with Batman on them. The Chiefs truck got totaled the year before, and that year they took a part of what was left of it, glued it to a plaque and gave it to him. Just odd things like that.

Batman is suppose to be sitting at the table with us again this year…He sat with us last year too…His real name is Jason. Last year at one point he ‘petted’ my dress…Said he wanted to see what it felt like. It was the red Chinese style dress that I had made. Speaking of dresses…I’ve already started work on mine for this year. It’s a teal-ish colour…I picked it out to go with my sandles. *laughs* What a backwards way of picking things out. But I’m really liking that colour of late. I’ve got the top part of the dress cut out, and pinned together…I’m still not sure how I’m going to do the skirt part of it. It’s a soft material, Panne…or however it’s spelled, it’s kind of like velevet, just a bit more plush, and without the price tag that velvet comes with (That is some expensive stuff!).

Still have to come up with a costume concept for the party in April…I should have plenty of material left over from Mum’s costume to keep to the purple, green, gold colour scehme if I so chose…Or I could go a bit more gothic, or what not…I’ve got a pair of black wings with purple on them that I was thinking about wearing if I could come up with something fitting…though I think they might be a bit too cumbersome to deal with…And I’ve got my loverly tiaras…I could do something that uses one of them…I don’t know…I haven’t a bloody clue. *laughs* Raya suggested Dracula’s bride…Which has it’s possibilites as well…Ooo…Dracula…*shakes head* Bloody hell…where did that come from. *laughs* (I fell asleep during that today…missed the best part even…blah. *laughs*)

I took my rat for a walk today…well, sort of. He still won’t let me put the harness on him, so I put a ponytail holder around his neck, and one behind his front legs, hooked his leash to them, and plopped him on my shoulder…and we headed outside. It was fairly nice today…*just remembered that I forgot to go and get the mail*…Oh well.

Ooo…I got two books yesterday. The Element Encyclopedia of Magical Creatures…Which has mentions of Harry Potter in it. *laughs* And…The Encyclopedia of Vampires, Werewolves, and Other Monsters. *squeals in delight* I was just glancing through it tonight…and there it was…Mention of our dogmen! Okay, okay…that might need a bit of an explanation. *laughs* There is a song that one of the *shudders* country music stations play, usually at Halloween…though next year I suppose they should play it more, being the 7th year and all. *looks at confused faces* *laughs* Okay…Thing is, since the 19th century there have been sightings of ‘dogmen’ or just the hearings of spooky unexplained sounds, or evidence of ‘things’. The song, called The Legend (which I have on tape around here somewhere…I need to see if I can get it on cd and find a way to share it will all of you.)…Anway, it lists sightings and evidence from something like 1887, or 1897, up to 1977 I believe. There is a sequal that deals with the events of 1987, in which a whole small little town just kind of packed up and disappeared over night…Been there, not much left at all…Thing is the sightings, etc. are not a yearly thing…In fact, as the dates may have already said, it’s a ten year cycle kind of thing…but it’s the 7th year of each decade…And next year…*squeals happily* (Gods…I’m probably one of the few that would be that excited by the concept)…is the 7th year of the 2000! (Duh, yeah, you all knew that. *laughs*)

I swear it’s one of the reasons I got married in 1997…I even kept saying the dogmen were invited to the wedding. *laughs* Which is really just odd when you take into consideration, there was a full moon that night, and me and the best man (Ken) ended up out in the driveway of the hall howling at the moon. By the time we were done, we’d gathered a bit of a group. Still…I’ve got a map somewhere around here of Michigan that has all the sites listed where there was dogman evidence…But it’s listed in the book! Well not the stuff listed from the song, but a little bit of stuff…I was just so excited to see it there…I would of never guessed it would be there. *laughs*

Thought of the perfect job for me…though I’m sure it probably pays nothing. *laughs* I would love to go in search of such things…check out ‘monster’/’creature’ sightings. (I mean, I did after all go to Sigma, rather what’s left of it, in 1997 [Sigma being the small town that went *poof* practically overnight], and drove all around the area in a Datsun B210 station wagon (which off on a side note…I’d really like another one of those cars…it was a wonderful car…looked like a mini herse. *laughs*).

Exerpt from book:
In North America, the Dogmen of Michigan are said to haunt northern Michigan. The legend dates to the late 19th century, when loggers were said to encounter a strange, large black dog that reared up on it’s hind legs. Folklore accounts recorded since then tell of sightings of a creature with a dog’s head and man’s body. "Dogmen" were said to break into houses and buildings, leaving

claw and teeth marks on doors, and to attack people and animals, some of whom supposedly died of fright. A creature with a man’s body and dog’s head was encountered swimming in Claybank Lake near Manistee, where fishermen had to fight it off to keep it out of their boat.

I remeber that in 1987 a couple reported their cabin had been broken into. There were claw marks on the door, and the place was trashed. The thought it had been a bear. The DNR went out there and informed them that the tracks that were all around were not bear tracks, but instead tracks belonging to a large dog.

*looks around* I do believe this will take a bit of getting use to. *laughs* My darling sissy Raya decided I needed something new. *pokes at name* Not sure about that though. *laughs* All these people are not my Uncle Remus. *laughs*

I think that covers just about everything…Aside from…I still need a costume idea! *laughs*

Log in to write a note

*shivers* Okay, you’ve completely spooked me. When I go to bed, I’ll have my covers pulled over my head. *laughs* But yeah, ghost/creatur hunting would be fun! – I’d like to do to Loch Ness, Scotland. If you’d like to change the look, I won’t be offended! *laughs* It was just…something to do for yous. Heh. Yay for parties! ~

I used to (and still do) think it would be cool to have a job searching for the sasquatch. I whole heartedly believe there is one living just outside my home town. I’ve seen footprints, and in the same are my friend saw something big and hairy walking on 2 legs, and it was almost definately not a bear. Ya, anyway, looking for stuff like that would be an awsome job.
