Catching up a tiny bit.

Let’s see…

Sunday: Critters had to go and be tortured…Me & Mum went shopping. While we were shopping we picked up Acetone & shop towels (which were sort of my late birthday presents).
I started work on cleaning off the black spray paint from the Tracker…Mum came out and helped after she finished up with the dishes. We got most of it off…Only the door was left. [Which I went to work on the next day, and got most of it off before running out of Acetone.]

Monday: Took Sonja to the doctor to look at her sore throat…She needs to start taking her allergy medicine on a regular basis. Most of her throat is due to drainage.

Mum came in from outside, asking me what kind of snake was brown with a red/orange belly.
I wasn’t sure. She said she’d just chased a cat away from it, but she wasn’t hopeful.
I went to check to see, the cat was back at it, and ran when I approached.
The snake was still…I prodded it a bit, thought I seen it move, then it was still again.
I got a leaf, an kind of poked around it’s face, hoping for some kind of movement…Finally I was rewarded.
The snake was still alive!
I scooped him up, and started carrying him off. As soon as I’d taken a couple steps he stuck is tongue out and started smelling the air.
He didn’t move anything other than his tongue the whole time I held him…I took him back on the powerline, found a nice sheltered hiding place for him and set him down.
I wish I had gotten an actual picture of him…But when I went back with the camera he was gone…Which is good, as it meant he was well enough to move and find a safer place to hide.

I looked online to find out what kind of snake it was. It is a Kirtland’s snake…They are endangered in Michigan (as well as a couple other states, and close to being endangered in a couple more).
There was just such a wonderful connectedness when I was holding him…I wasn’t sure where to go at first to find a place for him, then I felt it was right to head outback. I just felt so good that I could save him. I hope he finds a nice place to stay hidden from the stupid cats…& other predators that might choose to try and nibble on his tail.

Anyway…Snake was inspiration for my art for tonight. *smiles*
& that’s about it for the moment.
