An assortment of stuff…
Let’s see, a couple things…First I’ll start with Raya stuff.
Raya herself is fine and well. She’s doing good at her job, and her and Derrick are still going strong. Macen is somewhere around 7 months old (yeah, I’m a terrible aunt not knowing exact details off the top of my head)…He’s starting to crawl all over the place, and has even stood up on his own once. He babbles on and on and on (he might almost be as bad as his father for talking. *laughs*) He laughs and is a happy baby. So all is well there.
Raya’s parents on the other hand…Raya’s mum is dealing with incredibly high cholesterol, and her doctors want her to quit smoking, but nothing doing.
Raya’s father…They got a kind of good news/bad news thing going. They were worried about what they thought could possibly be tumor on/in his head. He had tests on Raya’s birthday. No tumor, so there is the good news…Bad news, he has the startings of Alzheimer’s. It’s just in the beginning phase right now, and hopefully it will be a slow acting version. I’m sure she would appreciate any thoughts that anyone would send her direction.
Still speaking of Raya…When I got dressed today I pulled out a dark grey shirt, with light blue trim, and a penguin on the front with the word ‘Chill’ written on it. I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and remembered the first time I wore the shirt, and the picture that was taken. I was in the front yard, my hair was purple, and it was my birthday. The shirt was a birthday present from my Sissy…From Raya. It was the first pressie she gave me, and it still means the world to me. Beyond that…I can thank her for Saturday as well…In all honesty, I really can.
Had I not met Raya, and not been inspired by her…I don’t think I would of ever went to college. I talked to her, and was moved by her excitement about being in school. Her classes, excited her, her Professors inspired her, and she inspired me. I was playing at being a student in the Harry Potter roleplay…She encouraged my essays/homework there…& she got me thinking that perhaps real classes, and actual college was a possibility.
Raya went with me to check out where my classes would be my first semester while she was visiting. She went with me to find my books for my first semester…& had she not had to go home, she would of went with me when I went to pick them up as well.
She encouraged me (as many others here) when I’d get frustrated. She’d help when she could on my homework, giving me thoughts & feedback.
When she was living her she helped watch the Critters while I was away at class.
I really wish she could have been there Saturday…If there was one person who wasn’t there that really should have been, [Aside from Dominic, whom I was walking for.] it should have been my Sister, my inspiration…My Raya.
Graduation…Yeah…It feels kind of weird…But in a good way. Granted I still have at least two full semesters at NMC, I’m not just a student anymore…I’m Alumni…I’m part of the history of the place. Strangeness, really.
I’ve got a little pin with a white pine on it (the schools symbol), and a sticker that says NMC Alumni, and they gave us all a baby white pine tree to plant. Mine is out by the satellite pole…I need to get some pictures of it…Put them, and pictures of graduation up sometime soon.
Despite having my picture taken by some photo person, my picture didn’t make it in the paper…But I’m really okay with that. Some guy taking pictures from the college took a group shot of me, Melissa, Kayla, and one of Kayla’s friends while we were waiting for Commencement to begin. Kayla’s friend was hella-tall! She stood in back with shorter-than-I Melissa right in front of her, then Kayla on one side, and me on the other…Which worked well as Kayla and I both had Phi Theta Kappa stoles & Honor Medals on, so we were like book ends. *laughs*
At the time of the fire alarm, I think we were all pretty much annoyed…But afterwards, looking back on it…It’s something to make the day even more memorable. I mean seriously, how many people can say their college graduation was interrupted by a fire alarm! & in all honesty…It was nice to get out of the hot gym and into the nice cool breeze…Even if that did mean having to hold my cap on. Yeah…My cap, which was literally safety pinned to my head! *laughs* I had in green & white hair falls (since I was wearing the gold Phi Theta Kappa tassel instead of NMC’s green & white one) and the cap wouldn’t go over them…So I had a couple safety pins and pinned the cap to the hair falls.
Like I said last entry…Went Letterboxing afterwards, but found nothing. But we didn’t get disheartened by it…Which I took as a good sign. Even if we don’t find the boxes, we can still have fun and enjoy the time together.
Sonja isn’t feeling well again. *frowns* She had a fever, though it was going down when I put her to bed, hopefully it stays that way. She was complaining of a sore throat all day (I’ve got one too, but I’m use to them), and she was saying she felt like she was going to throw up. Probably have to take her to the doctor again. Bleck…I’m so sick of doctors…I’m sure she is too.
Amazingly, Harley seemed to hold up rather well during the graduation ceremony (this is the boy who can’t sit still for too long, add heat in the gym to it…The fire alarm break was probably a good thing for him too).
Oh yeah…I think they decided the fire alarm was pulled by a little kid. Someone’s parents weren’t paying attention.
ANYWAY…Back to other things…
Wasil has been playing Star Trek online. [Yeah, my boy is a mega-Geek] The first day he was playing he told me to come up with a Klingon name…O.o Told him I hadn’t a bloody clue. He must of decided that was a hopeless endeavor…So he had me name his first ship instead. Then Saturday he had me name his second ship…Which yeah, ended up being name Pyris…Mostly because we were heading towards the pyramid on the grounds of what use to be the state hospital, and I couldn’t think of anything else! *laughs* But whatever, it apparently worked. *shrugs*
Anyway…Tonight he shows me his characters…I knew he had the one, and he’d told me it’s name before. It’s an ‘unknown’ alien race…His name is Grenalis Elysium III (Not sure about the ‘III’ part, but the other is his Nosferatu’s name)…Apparently he’s got a second character as well…A female Klingon…Her name: Jen’fer Ridja.
Which yeah…Anyone who knows the name I was handed at birth…I’m sure they can figure out where her first name came from. The last name…Yeah…It’s a bit amusing, sort of…Wasil’s las
t name is Ride. Although on his one Facebook account he has it spelled as Ridja. So yeah…He gave his female Klingon my first name & his last name, more or less.
Regarding her name:
Waz says:
you like?
c i think of you all the time
*smiles* I is all kinds of feeling of the specials. I don’t know how I could of even had that moment of doubt…He’s never given me any reason to…& I know I can trust him…I seriously don’t know what was with my brain the other night. Suppose it’s just one of those things you deal with when you are in a not-sure-what-it-is kind of thing, especially when the object of your adoration is over 600 miles away.
He managed to hurt himself today. *frowns* He was working on his computer and slipped and his hand hit part of it really hard…So hard he broke the skin on his hand…Looks like a bad cut. Told him he is not allowed to hurt himself, let alone when I’m not there to help him afterwards.
Well…I should probably think about getting some sleep…Hopefully I won’t be faced with the level of boredom I felt today too often this summer. [Seriously, really…One day out of the semester, and I was ready to swear I was dying of boredom! *shakes head @ self*]
I’m so so proud of you! *squishy hugs* *tosses confetti* ♥
