Monday, June 25: Since I was the only bridesmaid in the area I got tapped to be put to work. The theme of the day, hot glue is hot. *nods* We were making paper goggles, then felt top hats, then gluing the paper goggles to the felt top hats. There were like 22 or 23 of them when we were done. They were the centerpieces for the tables at Reese & Spoon’s wedding.
Then we traced and cut out gears that she was going to be using for ‘frames’ around pictures of her and Spoon; two little ones for ‘baby’ pictures and two bigger ones for more recent pictures.
[ & it was Derrick’s birthday, so I called & wished him a happy birthday.]

Tuesday, June 26: Had class.

Wednesday, June 27: Mum was suppose to spend some time at home, but her tire fell off on the way home from work, so she had to go and get that fixed.
Reese & Skittles stopped by, as Skittles came up to help do wedding stuff too.
I finished the dress of evilness. I lost track how many hours I put into that thing…Over 24, I know that. Decorated and itty bitty hat, but didn’t have the headband to finish it.

Thursday, June 28: Got the headband & finished the itty bitty hat. It was also Bachelorette Party night.  Reese’s mother was the Designated Driver. There was Reese, Skittles, Me, Alysha (Butterflies & Sunshine/Chicka/Reese’s sister), and Marie (ReeRee/Spoon’s sister).
I was hesitant about the whole thing to being with, but it was actually pretty good, for the most part. We went to the casino for trivia night. Didn’t win, but had fun playing anyway.
Reese got an app. for her phone called Mixologist, so we had a list of strange drinks to try out. I found one called Black Blood. So that was my drink of choice for the night (had 2 @ the casino & 1 @ the pub). [It was a Soul Eater/Crona thing, as that character has black blood, and that’s who I was last Halloween.] It amused me & ReeRee when she was sketching out a cartoon and was listing the ingredients and the fact that Jagermeister has meister in it. Yeah…Well…It would be amusing to slightly tipsy Soul Eater fans.

After the casino we went to Kilkenny’s, which is an Irish pub. Our waitress sucked, which is why I only ended up with 1 more Black Blood, rather than 2. [The casino’s were better anyway, they were mixed a bit off at the pub.]
There was a bit of trouble & anxiety there, when it wasn’t sure how ReeRee was going to be getting back down to Cadillac. Everyone ended up crashing at my house (well aside from Reese’s sister & mother, as Alysha lives in TC with her husband & Squishie, & Reese’s mother went home). ReeRee was suppose to get picked up at 4 in the morning, but the guys didn’t show up to get her…So she ended up just going back with them after decorating the tabernacle the next day.
& there was wandering around Meijer with drunk Reese, & slightly tipsy ReeRee, & Skittles who was fairly sober & me, whom whatever effect the black blood had had, had pretty much worn off by then.

Friday, June 29: Spent most of the day out at the church camp where Reese was having her wedding. The guys moved the pews around, set up tables. The girls worked on the rest of the decoration stuff. [Rather it should be the guys & ReeRee did the heavy lifting/moving, while the girls & Ricky did the lighter work.]
Reese & Skittles ended up coming back to my house again, as her grandparents had Maverick (Alysha’s squishie) & that, in addition to the fact that Reese’s grandfather knew she was going to be moving out after getting married, got him a bit worked out, so she was trying to avoid having to deal with him.

"Times New Roman","serif"”>Saturday, June 30: Reese & Spoon’s wedding.
Could of lived without the religious stuff, but aside from that, it was a lovely ceremony. They did a unity sand thing. They each had a color sand that the poured into a heart shaped container. The way the sands mixed together was quite beautiful.

Anyway…Prior to the ceremony we are all running around doing last minute things. I ran off to get changed, literally. Which the whole thing, in an afterthought is amusing, at least to me.
Initially I was dressed Steampunk Pirate-ish…tan pants, my steampunk boots, a white puffy shirt & a black corset over it. Like I said, I literally ran to get changed, and had a black back tucked under my arm as I ran off through the woods towards the bathrooms…Could of looked very much like I snatched the bag & ran off. I did a complete ‘personality change’, going from pirate to lady. I emerged from the bathroom in my bridesmaid’s dress, with my itty bitty hat on my head, and the bag I had had tucked under my arm when I ran off, now had its handle extended and I was wheeling it along behind me. I’m sure it was one of those ‘you had to be there’ moments.

The reception didn’t quite go as planned, but I don’t think anyone really minded…It was too hot to think anyway. There was suppose to be dancing & what not, but most everyone wandered off before that even thought about being started.
They cut the cake (a top hat) with a sword.

There was some stress afterwards, as the one groomsman was pretty much useless, and didn’t want to help with taking care of the tables. One of the other ones had to be back downstate before too late, as his parents were getting ready to leave & he was suppose to be going with them.
@ one point the worthless groomsman & the one that had to go & ReeRee were all going to go, and I was going to take Skittles & her ‘boyfriend’ back down to Cadillac. But then it was decided I would take Ricky down to his parents, and everyone else would stay & help with clean up.  *rolls eyes & shakes head @ Ricky*  It is not a reassuring thought getting ready to take someone home only to find out they aren’t sure how to tell you how to get there! *headdesk*
But…Managed to get him home without getting lost…So yeah! *laughs*

It was weird…After all was said & done…I was feeling kind of sad that it was actually done & over with. It was kind of nice to have stuff to do & other beings to hang out with for a while. It was really nice to take a break from school work (despite now having to catch back up on it!).

 

I have an Extended Written Response assessment due tomorrow…I’m having issues over the 2nd question. What I have is…

2. Both The Graveyard Book and The Jungle Book are written so that the chapters are a series of short stories. Create a “Missing” chapter for the book of your choice.

I’m not sure it works though…Blah. On a good note, I got all 200 points for the last assessment I wrote. Yay me!

A week from tomorrow I need to have a book presentation ready & a themed integrated lesson plan (which means 2 actual lesson plans written up). I’ve got the book read & notes taken for the presentation…& I have a theme picked out for the lesson plans (Nature)…But a lot of work ahead of me, & another week where homework isn’t going to be top on my list of things to do.

Tomorrow I have to be in TC @ 9:15 for a ‘special edition’ of class. We get out at 10:30.
I don’t think anything else is planned for tomorrow, so hopefully I can get stuff to some point of doneness.
Wednesday, being the 4th, has plans. More plans each day it seems! Mum plans to actually be around! [She was amazingly around tonight too!] We are going to Boyne…She thinks the truck with the Sarsaparilla might be there! I do so hope so. & we are going to wander around town a bit.  @ 6 we are going to her friend Kelly’s to celebrate Cindy’s birthday (which is the 4th too). Then we are going back into town for fireworks! Yay fireworks! [Dude, I so just remembered that the 4th is the birthday I gave to Hex in the Potterverse! *laughs* I should so go all Steampunk…Although I have misplaced my good goggles! *cries*]

Mum is taking Thursday & Friday off to spend with me & the Critters!
Sonja wants to go see the dinosaurs…She’s also mentioned the SooLocks.
Harley just keeps saying he wants to go to the fish hatchery. The one in Oden has a place where you can feed the fish. It’s pretty cool.

Not sure what Saturday & Sunday are going to be (aside from the Critters have to return to torture-ville Sunday).
This is the only week that Sonja is going to be here in July…She goes to camp for 3 weeks after I pick them back up (a day early) from their father’s next week. Then we only have a week and a half that all of us are going to have together before school starts back up. [1 of those weeks I don’t have class at all! Yay!]
