A bit of catch up…
Friday…Presentation Day…
Went over to the college first thing, as that is where I was catching the ride down to main campus. There were five of us on the way down.
Got down there around 12:15-ish…Not really sure. Had a wonderful moment of "I’m surrounded by people & yet, I feel all alone." So, yeah, fun.
Went in search of where I was suppose to be doing my presentation. Found room, only to have it say it had been moved…Go down long twisty corridors, finally find where I’m suppose to be, with an hour or so to kill beforehand. Joy, the waiting game.
Ended up calling Derrick to kill some time, as I really just wanted to be anywhere else but there. Not even because of nerves over the presentation, but just the ‘I am all alone’ thing going on.
Time for presentation came…There was me, the one guy from class, and some girl from downstate’s campus. Two of the other girls from class came and sat in. & there were the two professors who were acting as the panel.
There was no podium, like there was suppose to be. Sucked. As I sat my papers on the table top, and they were a bit too far away for seeing clearly. Ug, hate my eyes sometimes.
But…I didn’t do a whole lot of shaking, and I tried to do the eye contact thing, and only stumbled over a couple of words, and I think I cut my nervous breaths out.
Afterwards, I find out that the woman professor wrote her Master’s paper on Tricksters. O.o *headdesk* So…Yeah, I hope I didn’t do too overly bad.
They were having a reception afterwards. At first we weren’t going to go. Then they decided to pop in for 20 min. After all, free food! We ended up staying for 45 minutes!
The one guy that had come down with us met up with some friends and left. So it was the four of us girls from class & Professor Kurt. Then the male professor who had sat on my panel sat down with us. Then Kurt, once again, decided to declare that I was the most creative student he’s ever had. *dies* At least he got it out of his system before the other professor came and sat with us.
Kurt said he should get the results of what the Professors down there thought Monday or Tuesday, and he’ll forward them along to us.
Paper of Evilness: Sit sitting at 12.5 pages. Although I do have a paragraph to add to it.
I’ve given up twice now, as I’ve started to work on it, and the household decided that was the time to talk to me, about the most unimportant stuff in the universe on top of it.
It’s not like they don’t know I have this due. It’s not like they can’t tell what I’m working on (The bloody papers are scattered all around in front of me!).
And if it’s not them talking and asking questions, it’s the computers talking and being distracting. You have headphones, use them!
I was thinking…I have Monday, all day while they are at work & school…If nothing else then…NOPE…Remembered earlier, I have to break in the middle of whatever I’m doing to take Sonja to a counseling appointment (which, in the end will be pointless, as 1.) This woman didn’t really do anything to help her before & 2.) They don’t really do anything to address the issue.)
So, yeah…I get back from downstate & the presentation to a surprise…3 more cats…These ones being indoors. *headdesk* Joy, because I love allergies, I really, really do.
They came with names, but I vetoed the one. I wasn’t going to be bloody well calling a boy cat Angel. So we now have a tiger-ish cat named Boots (the only girl in the new batch, bringing us up to 2 females, joy)…& two white cats with black spots. The one is named Beef (named by a vegetarian…Really? I knew there was something off about that girl, but…yeah)…& after several suggestions of names, and vetoes from all around the house one some, we end up with Buddha. Actually, Buddha Renfield Zen-Garden, but yeah, whose going to be technical like that.
*looks around*
Mum & Sonja just left a bit ago to go visit Mum’s mother…Harley just downloaded Minecraft onto the Elf’s computer…There may be a moment of quiet in the house (aside from the waterfall effect of Sebastian’s filter)…That is if I can get Harley to realize he doesn’t need to narrate what he is doing on the computer. I love him dearly, but sometimes…O.o Ahhhhhh! *falls over*
So yeah…I think I’m going to try and take advanage of the possible lull, and see if I can get anything done on this paper.
Yay for presentation being done!! I once wrote a paper on comparing protests of the 60s to Occupy…only to find that the prof had been arrested several times in 60s street protests. D’oh!
