#5…Election/Class/Conference/HotWings

*pre-emption from previously written entry*

I had the following entry written prior to being able to get online. Once online & checking my notes I decided to give it a brief pre-emption to address a private note left on my previous entry.

NOTE: I hope you really regret not voting. [p]

Not only private, so no one else could comment on them, but unsigned, because apparently they don’t have a backbone.

You know what…No, I do not regret not voting. It is my right to chose to vote or to chose not to vote. I had had the intentions of doing so, and for whatever reason(s) I decided not to. That too is my choice. Am I happy with my choice? Yes. If I had voted, the outcome wouldn’t of been any different.

Now…Back to the previously schedule entry, which the beginning of touches on the subject just addressed.

Seriously, about the election…From all that I had heard Obama was going to take Michigan…So when I decided that I wasn’t going to make it to the polls, it wasn’t too big a deal to me.

And I know, so many of you want to go on the thought that ‘Every Vote Counts’…And I’m sure a great number of them do. But, in the long run, it’s not the ‘Popular Vote’ that decides who wins…It’s the ‘Electoral Vote’…Which has been know, on occasion, to turn out for the one who didn’t get the popular vote.

Either way…Had I made it to the polls, I would of voted for Obama, and Obama won…So it all works out in the end…At least this time around.

And apparently….My Creative Writing teacher isn’t going to be nice enough to cancel classes for another day and save me the gas that it takes to get there and back. [Gas, by the way, is down to $2.16…Though now that the election is over, there are thoughts that it will be going back up. L Why can’t it just stay there! Gods…It’s not like I’m asking it to go back to when it was under a dollar! Yeah…I remember those times…Granted, I wasn’t quite driving yet…But I remember.]

Sooo…With 15 minutes to get ready to be walking out the door, and nothing, or mostly nothing, ready for me to do so…I’d best get my arse off here and moving. I shall returns laters, after moved up Parent-Teacher conferences.

Got to class…Was there about 15 minutes. We had a ‘sub’…Sort of, if you can call it that. Actually it was someone coming in, telling us that they had a hand-out for us from the teacher, telling us a little bit of what was going on, then telling us we could stay there and do what our teacher sort-of wanted us to do…Or we could leave…We all got up and left. *laughs* [She told us on our way out that she wouldn’t tell him we all got up and left.]

Anyway…Apparently Sunday my Creative Writing teacher decided to go up on his roof and attempt to repair a leaky skylight (This guy has got to be in his 60’s…The woman that ‘subbed’ today said the staff all figure he thinks he’s in his 20’s with everything he’s always doing.). Well, it was a bit rainy…And the roof was a bit slippery…And he went tumbling off the roof, pretty much landing on his face & wrist from the sounds of it. He’s broken the bone right below his wrist on the one hand (not sure which one). As of today they were waiting for the swelling to go down so they can do surgery on it.
He’s suppose to be back Monday…If he’d had his way he would have been back yesterday, but apparently his wife told him no.

Did the Parent-Teacher conference thing…Sonja’s grades have gone up to the happies. She’s got a couple A somethings, Mostly B things…And one C something (yeah, I don’t have the paper right here in front of me to say for sure). The only reason for the C…And for the one B- (I believe that’s what it is), is because she doesn’t do well with the making of paragraphs I guess. The B- is in Science, where apparently they are doing a lot of writing now. *shrugs*

Mum wants to get insulation for the mud room. We went to Gaylord with that thought in mind after the conferences. She didn’t find it in the size she needed for the mud room. L
While we were there the Critters were yelling food…So Mum decided to feed them. They ended up yelling for Burger King (well, mostly for onion rings). Blah…I’ve had it twice recently, so it wasn’t something I wanted. Mum came up with a compromise though…Went through the drive-thru at Burger King for her and the Critters & I got to stop at B.C.P. for food for myself. J

So yeah…*rubs way to full belly* I got breadsticks (which I still have four or five of in the fridge), and hot wings. *grins* & I gots to see Todd. He was even the one that took my order…Starting with telling me he couldn’t give me his discount because Urman was still there. *kicks Urman* Not that I minded too much…I got to see Todd & that was more important than the food.

He asked me Halloween night when we were driving around a bit how I could stand to be around him…The thought behind that was he’s usually been drinking…& that even he can’t stand to be around drunk people when he’s sober. It’s something I was actually putting effort of thought into today…Thing of it is, it is usually the kind of state I see him in, so it’s what I’m use to…Aside from that…He’s more, open, for lack of a better word. He always seems on the distant side otherwise…
I’m sure it’s due in part to whatever has happened in his past, that is, after all, usually the case. I know his last girlfriend(s) cheated on him, which would be a cause for staying distant…Then again, if he was distant with them, could be the reason they cheated. I don’t know…*headdesk* I have no intentions of following in their footsteps (or the mistakes of my past). [Heck…I felt slightly guilty over the half of bite to James neck the other day…And that was in self-defence & I got mostly shirt in the process.]

Believe it or not…We’ve got Halloween costumes picked out for next year already…Hopefully that means I’ll get them done with plenty of time. Sonja is going to be Toph from Avatar, in Fire Nation clothes…Harley is going to be Zuko from Avatar, in his first season outfit, but with third season hair. *laughs* [I’d rather he have season three outfit as well, but he says no, he’d rather the other.] And me…I’m leaning towards first season Suki (also from Avatar), although I do quite like her Fire Nation clothing outfit as well. [All the Fire Nation clothing is in reds…I like reds&hel

lip;*pokes at Harley* Come on…Third season Zuko is so much better than season one Zuko.]

Didn’t get anything done on the homework front…

Got a letter from Health Services saying I need to send proof that Harley is a U.S. Citizen before they can give him insurance. O.o *rolls eyes at idiots* Anyway…I’m sending off a copy of his birth certificate to them tomorrow…So hopefully the Critters will have insurance soon.

Well…I suppose I should see if the internet is even going to let me on so I can post this…As of getting on the computer, it was having issues and telling me I couldn’t play on-line. *pokes at it with sticks*

gass here is little over 2.16 you got lucky.

I dunno what gas is here. uhm… Lol Yay on critter grades! :O that’s kind of funny about the u.s. citizen thing. When I went to apply for my student credit card I was told the first time that I couldn’t have it because I wasn’t a U.S. citizen…. *falls over laughing*

Gas is 2.19 here – but it might have went down a little more in the last 2 days. It’s crazy – but I’m not complaining – I didn’t feel so horrible when I left the gas station. Sonja’s doing great!

*kicks the anonymous noter* Yay for Obama winning! Yay for hot wings! [We’re going to buy the stuff to make our own. I hope they are good. Derrick did work at B.C.P., after all. *lol*] The Halloween costumes sound good! Am thinking about next year’s, too. *HUGS*
