4th week-end stuff & today already even…

Sunday: I didn’t get my Critters on time. I was there on time, just no one else was around. Apparently they went down the other side of Detroit and road construction slowed down their return.
While I was waiting I text Mum and asked her what time she thought she would be home, as Sonja had said she wanted to go to the craft show/sale that the have in the park in Boyne on the 4th & the Billy Bayou truck was going to be there, and we wanted to get sarsaparilla. She text back saying she would be back early morning. *rolls eyes*

4th of July…
I got up…9-ish? No Mum. Kept waiting…waiting….waiting…
It was…After 3 when she finally managed to get home. (Might have been even later, I can’t recall for sure…Point is, it DEF wasn’t ‘Early Morning’.)

Got Appa packed up; outdoor blanket, extra blankets, picnic basket, cooler, bag of popcorn, extra Gatorade.

Headed to Alba’s cemetery to look for a Letterbox…Didn’t find it. Not sure if we were 100% in the right place or not…We had the right starting place, but it had need for compass and we lack one (going to have to fix that). So after a bit of attempting to go by the rest of the clue & giving up, we jumped back in Appa & headed for Boyne.

When I got my plates, I got the State Park ‘sticker’ with it for $10. (Meaning I can now go into any of Michigan’s state parks without having to pay anything else.) So, since I had a Letterbox clue for Young State Park in Boyne, we decided we’d eat our picnic (dinner) there and look for the box.
Ate…Went in search of box…No go. Found the spot that HAD to of been where the box was suppose to be at. All the clues fit. & there were three of them that pointed right there (it was a very well thought out clue).
Despite not being able to find the box, we still had fun, as the box was suppose to be at the playground in the park. We discovered the merry-go-round. (Mum has pics on her phone, as she forgot to grab the camera…I need to get her to send them to me so I can have them.) Sonja, Harley & I went around, and around, and around. *laughs* It was one of the highlights of the day. *nods*

Sonja declared it is time for another photo shoot. *laughs* She wants to go back to the park and have pictures taken on the merry-go-round. I shall have to oblige…Tho it won’t be for a bit, as she goes to camp shortly.

Anyway…After playing for a little bit we headed for Boyne to do the craft stuff in the park & get our drinks. It was 7:00 when we got to Boyne…& we found out that everyone (as in the vendors) had to be out of the park by 6:00. *frowns*
So yeah…No craft show/sale for Sonja & no sarsaparilla for any of us.

Since still had a bit of time before fireworks, took Cindy her birthday present that Mum had picked up somewhere while she was gone over most of the week-end. [Cindy’s birthday (like Romulus’s) is actually on the 4th of July.]

Headed back to town…Realized that didn’t have a bag to carry the blankets & stuff to the park from where we were parked…Dollar General was right there so went to see if they had one. They actually had a pretty good one, for only $8.00…So got it, and some candy & headed to the park to wait for fireworks.

Fireworks…They were okay…Not the best I’ve seen, but not the worse either. Thought we had a good spot until they started shooting them off, had to move about 5 foot to get a better view. Luckily there was still room to do so.

A couple other things about the day…While we were walking at one point, this little girl came up to us and asked why we were wearing costumes. (I think mostly directed at Sonja.) Sonja had on maroon leggings with the olive drab skirt she wore for her kender costume on, can’t remember what shirt, mostly because it was covered by the black clock with red spider webs on it & she was wearing the black boots with the toes cut out that I wore for my Garraa costume…& carrying a black umbrella with red pokadots. Mum & Harley were more or less their ‘normal’ selves…& really so was I, but I did have goggles & hair falls, so that might of counted for something. Anyway…The little girl’s mother said the little girl is always wearing capes & that Sonja (& her boots) probably gave the little girl ideas. *laughs*
Also the woman @ Dollar General asked if we were dressed up for any reason in particular, & we said it was just us being us, which she thought was cool.
Did, of course, get some of the odd looks, which Sonja spitted and sputtered about, but she knows what to expect.

Another thing we played a word game…On the ride to Boyne & while waiting for the fireworks. Sonja said it’s called the Name Game…You pick a category & then name things in that category or name people/characters in the category, until someone can’t come up with another one, or repeats one already said. It was fun. While waiting for the fireworks we were running through Harry Potter characters. *laughs*

Yesterday/Tuesday:
Not much…Sonja got her hair all chopped off…It’s cut like Havoc from Full Metal Alchemist. So…bang-ish things & the back of it is shaved. I have pics…I will get them up shortly, hopefully…Maybe along with kitten pics. *smiles*

Today…Yeah, it’s not even noon & I’ve got something to write about!
The phone rang a bit ago…The Idiot…I figured he was going to try and get ‘make-up’ days for the days that he missed because he was out of state. Nope…He called to tell me that the child support might be messed up for a couple weeks. Um…Okay…Cuz honestly, I was expecting it to disappear over the summer, as did Mum. But no…Apparently he quit his job with the tree service he’s been working with…& actually got another job right away. O.o He’s going to be driving truck…He’s headed to Indiana (tomorrow I think) to do 180 hours driving with someone else, then he’ll be getting his own truck…& his schedule will be something like…2 weeks on the road, 2 days home, 2 weeks on the road, 2 days home, etc. etc.
Which means…Critters get to stay where they belong for all of those 2 weeks…& he asked if he could have them on the 2 days he was home…Which yeah, makes sense…So they will be home, happy, where they want to be for the majority of the time now. *smiles* They are happy, happy Critters.
Now…To rob a bank…With 2 weeks at a time, we could actually make long distance trips. That’s it…Have to start playing the Lotto.

Anyway…Since she doesn’t have to worry about her father complaining and threatening to shave off what little hair she has left…Sonja will be getting her hair dyed shortly…Like in a little while. We had it planned that

I was going to get her the day before she headed to camp and get it dyed, that way she could have it done for camp. Oh yeah…She’s going to be a ginger. (As long as the dye goes the right color…That is her plan anyway. *laughs*)

So yeah…I’m giddy…Critters are giddy…Elf is giddy…I don’t even care about the child support and if it’s messed up for a bit, or if it’s there at all (though yeah, it does come in handy), I’m just glad to have my Critters where they want to be, where they are happy. *smiles*

Okay…I have something I should be doing…Though, I think I got distracted from the French that I swear I had good intentions of starting to work on…Tho I did get some post it tabs the other day, with the thought that I would write on them in French, and stick them to everything in the house…So I could at least get objects stuffed into my brain. *laughs* [Which kind of got the idea from Sandra…Who I don’t even think knows where this diary is…O.o]

Anyway…I’m off to do something…Hopefully useful. *laughs*

I’m glad that you & the critters get to be together more & that everyone is happy. 🙂 And also glad that you had a pretty nice holiday weekend. I really liked that idea about the leaving in notes in French around as well. ♥

the fourth sounded like a nice day. *nods* I’ve played “the name game” like that and many ohter froms of it. She’s going to dye her hair red.. hummn.

Hey… sorry I been AWOL – packing, moving, and unpacking will do that to a person *grimace* Regarding your FO post – as long as everyone involved is consenting, then really there can be no harm in trying, just, as another noter mentioned, make sure you have set up a “safe/stop” word prior to starting anything. Too bad the letterboxes weren’t where you thought they’d be – maybe next time. Yay on the Critters having an absolute set schedule with “Daddy dear”… and good for Sonja getting her hair done the way she likes :). I think there might have been more I wanted to say, but I can’t remember at the moment. Good luck with your studies!
