In the End

In the end, all that was left was our account of what had happened. Newspapers, books, recordings. Mountains upon mountains of catalogued information that chronicled every last act of humanity’s final years. Not a piece was missing. Our observations were immaculate straight through to the finish.

But, ironically, there was no one left to see it. No one left to keep it. So the news pages faded. So the books eroded away. Over time, even the digital media turned to dust.

In the end, all that was left was dust. The dust of our memories long since gone. For, no matter how hard we may have tried, we could not instill our impression to the Earth; it simply wouldn’t listen. And so dust prevailed. Although, it wouldn’t be long before that had gone too.

*completely awed*. This is very powerful statement, that only dust is what we are all reduced to. But dont you think its too nihilistic a view? Or is it just me again?? TC. Keep writing.
