my dearest i dreamed so long of hearing your footsteps at the top of the stairs, steady and promising something i won’t reveal aloud. i missed you so sweetly and every second that went by without hearing from you was agonizing and beautiful, revealing misery and an innovative love i didnt realize i could contain. they tell us our longing is illegal but its existence remains untouched, flawless and more than i could have ever hoped for.

i’ve been restored by the mere deepness of your voice. i’m so thankful for you.

i look forward to seeing you in a few days. just hearing your breathing keeps my spirits soaring, my body a shrinking silhouette against the green grass as you pull me into the sky.
