The Day After
I called Alix’s mom’s house. The place we stopped by the other night. I had to. A weight was still clinging to me this morning, even though I figured it would have disappeared. So I call the house. Her mom answer…
“Hi, is Alix there?” I ask in a doubtful voice.
“Oh… no she isn’t. Is this David?”
That caught me a little offguard. I guess she had seen the note we had written in the dust on her car. Anyway, I spoke with her mom for a good while (her mom always really liked me). Even though I haven’t spoken with Alix yet, the phonecall with her mom was enough to ease this weight. Also, her mother will inform Alix that I called and give her my number. We’ll see where we go from here. Journey to the past… just like John Cusack.
For those out of the loop, being new or having forgotten, you can read about what the deal with Alix was by entries at the start of my diary, basically starting with:

There are a few people in my life that I wish would apologize for some stuff that happened between us but that won’t happen. They don’t realize how bad it affected me. I have respect for you. I think I fixed the picture problem. If you want to see them now. *hugs*
