Green buggie thingie
Did you ever think that your children would surpass your level of intelligence?
Did you ever think it would happen at 3 and 5?
In the last two days it has become clear that it really could happen.
Yesterday I looked on the window and saw a huge green thing with 6 legs a 2 inch body that was as long as it was wide, and antennae that stretched out at least an inch longer than the legs. It was right at my eye level on the window right beside my computer. I called CC, "Quick, CC, come look at this cool thing on our window." And just to clarify, it was only cool because it was on the OUTSIDE of the window had it been on the inside I would have had a much different reaction. Say a madwoman who was doing a performance of Stomp on Speed. So we spent time looking at the underside of this thing and moving objects in front of it to see if we could get it to walk around a bit. CC was fascinated and kept asking questions. Finally when he asked what it was I said it was a grasshopper, knowing that it didn’t quite fit the category I thought it would be close enough. He disappeared seeming finished with the great green buggies. But then he ran in with his toy grasshopper and said, " Mom, that is not a grasshopper, THIS is a grasshopper and see that is NOT"
WELL!
But then he said, "It is a spider, bug, flying thing that will kill the whole world" So he still has some learning to do. Maybe I should let him spend some time with Kemma to learn his buggies.
So now for Mr AJ. This morning they were playing with wobblies wobbles. Clearly I do NOT know the proper names for these thingies either. But I heard the boys conversation from the bedroom.
Alden "CC, NO, Dain can get those in his mouth"
CC "But I will not let him put them in his mouth"
Alden "CC, you can’t play with these in front of Dain"
CC "Mom, Can I play with these?"
Mom "Oh if you guys are talking about those little circle things then AJ is right, Dain should not have them around"
Alden " Mom, NO no no, these are ovals, not circles"
What can I say my kids are just smart.
Ok, It has been a while since I posted photos, could I have forgotten something? Anyone? What did I do wrong?
