Still having problems with Kirino’s book "Out". It’s my third attempt to read it… it’s coming from my fascination with oriental settings, be it contemporary or historical. I really enjoy (though enjoy is not the best word here) learning about how life looks on the other side of the globe. So far away, so different culturally, yet the painful and difficult reality of the working-class existence remains the same. The book is very well written, in a simple, vivid and captivating style that fits the overall atmosphere and the story so damn well. Come to think of it, maybe this is the problem that I have with the book – It’s TOO vivid. The overwhelming lack of hope, lack of perspectives, brutality of every day life and all the aspects of it… it does drag me down a bit too much perhaps. I am still determined to read, however, because – simply put – this is an awesome book and I want to know how it ends.

As for other things… Anyone knows a way to make me drink more liquids every day? I recently realised that I can survive three-four days drinking no more than a small cup of tea per day and even the silly me knows it’s dangerously little. This is probably where my occasional weakness and dizziness come from, together with fainting spells. The problem is that I can’t possibly force myself to drink water. Sparkiling water is a bit easier to cope with, but still a glass full of colorless and tasteless liquid scares me shitless. I am a tea lover, but someone told me that tea can actually dehydrate me even more… I am also addicted to coke light (yes, that awful light version, not the regular or zero one) but that’s also out of question as far as providing liquids for my body goes.

Yes, I know, I have silly problems.

Ugh, I haven’t had time at all to read still. Got two new projects on top of my old one that I am trying to fit into the “schedule” so my plate is a wee bit full. As for water, I don’t like to drink it straight either and usually would opt for some flavour thing to mix in like Crystal Light. Light in sugar and calories but nice flavours to choose from.

Water – try crystal light if you want flavors. Also for teas, you can try oriental teas like Jasmine, or Ginsing. Neither will dehydrate you, and are pretty good cold. Okay the Ginsing sucks cold, but the Jasmine smell wonderful and is good cold. You can also get Lemon Tea, and some of the more herbal based ones. Make a big pitcher of the tea, let it cool, and you have a great refreshment
