Favorite Pixel Places

When the world outside my window is dark, colorless and just plain unfriendly, when I need to relax, feast my eyes and ears on something beautiful – I go play Lord of the Rings Online.

I have several favorite places there, but all have one thing in common – the incredible sense of space. It’s wonderful to let your eyes wander far away to the horizon, find tiny trees there, slightly obscured by a gentle haze… it’s so relaxing to go fishing by a lake in Shire and just watch sunrays reflecting off the crystal clear water in dozens of golden sparkles. It makes me forget all my worries for a while when I ride my horse into Rivendell valley, listen to the wind in the trees and the majestic sound of waterfalls…

Now, because a picture is worth a thousand words, here you go:

SHIRE – Hobbiton by the Water, you can see the Party Tree and Bag End in the distance:

RIVENDELL – my favorite place by the waterfall, right in front of the Last Homely House:

This is where I hang out when it’s raining in the game world – the kitchens in Elrond’s house:

EVENDIM – two gorgeous views of the places where I like to sit by the fire and watch the water while listening to the wind:

EREGION – less color perhaps, but the horizon is so deliciously far away:

Last but not least – MORIA. This is my favorite place in the entire mines, a huge geode put on display and wonderfully illuminated:

Now you will have to excuse me… I feel like going fishing. 🙂

Oh, that is so pretty, hun. I did try this game for a couple of weeks but it just did not capture me for some reason. Must have been my frame of mind then. I was so disappointed with AoC. Vanguard has become my new home though. It has the same feel as EQ was with me.

Just read your note: The armour I had on was actually just my social armour for my appearance tab. I usually wear a plate armour as a cleric but I love running around with a light clothing on – it makes me look relaxed and less stuffy, lol.
