Thinking Happy *Edit*

In the afternoon yesterday we went for a mega walk. We started at the beach at the bottom of the cliff, walked right along the beach in the dusk of the afternoon. Then we pasted the beach and came to the rocks and walked them. We took Callum and Lucy with us too. Callum did very well, and walked most of the way. At the end of the rocks we had no choice but to go up, so we did and up the stairs we did. Callum and Lucy run up the stairs of the cliff to top, while Matt and I just took our time. We stopped at the half way mark to look back out over the sea. I should have taken my camera with me. Even being so high up, we could look back into the ocean and see schools of fish swimming around back to the shore and into the waves. After we made it all the way to the top, we came up to a park and I sat down and watched Callum play, up and down the slide. He finished playing with the slide and it was starting to get darker now and we coud feel not the sea air but the coolness of the night air setting in. We started walking again, along the top if the cliff, and came across some more stairs to walk down. The dog jumped most of the way, Callum needed a little help and wanted to hold my hand. At the end of the stairs we came to the beach again. I  could only just hear Callum saying "car" with a very weak pointing when he saw it in the car park. I think by then he was tired. When we got home, I changed him into a night nappy and we had a warm drink together and he fell asleep with so much ease last night.

I want to knit Callum some more longnies, but with some feet in them. Now that we are going to be into winter and it does get cold of night here, I think they may keep his feet warm. Most nights I’m woken by cold feet and cold hands on my back or belly. Does anybody have any links for some? I have some really nice New Zeland wool to knit with and I dying to use it. I’m in the middle of finishing off some longies in Orchard and I have some Gala and Gelato wool to play with. And I’m also thinking that they would knit into a jumper really nicely as well. Yet I think I would have to go buy a jumper pattern. You know what, I haven’t even been and stalked out the local knitting shop. I forgot that there was even a crafty store here. Ahh well that gives me something do this afternoon when I go and do the weekly shopping. I’m in a real reds time now. I would really love to knit something in the round in Rhubarb, and I was thinking of a soaker in a newborn size. I know I have lots of yarn left over to go the next size up and the next size up too.

Just after I Finished writing this, Matt got a phone call for a job interview!!! Oh yeah …. Happy Dance!!! All looks very good, and he may just have a job, we wil find out next week!!!

I figured I’d whip out my like size 4 needles and see what the gauge comes out to. I don’t have much practice with knitting though. I can purl if I absolutely have to. The only size 4 needles I have though are aluminum which I hate. The only yarn I do have doesn’t slide really well (acrylic yarn)

RYN: Yeah I’d thought about that. I keep thinking about this but can’t seem to figure it out, how does knitting on the circular needles end up making like a round object (ie hat)

Good luck with the interview Matt:) Hope he gets it!
