Only 4 More Days
Can you believe that it’s only 4 days till settlement on our house? And with only 4 days left to go, the packing has started. Everytime we move I always say Next time, Im getting movers, yet we don’t. I’m mostly looking forward to setting up house, it’s the only part that I really enjoy doing in a move. The time just seems to be ticking by now. So wednesday afternoon we decided to go for drive up to the house from some photo taking. It’s overly overcast outside and just after we took some photos the rain bucketed down on us entering the car. FIL and Older SIL come up with us, so they could take the photos. Finally it’s nice to have a photo of all three us together in front of our new house. The sold sticker has been on the board for a while now, alsmost 2 weeks. I was lucky enough to get to stick it on. The beach is a longer walk walk from this house. Somewhere in the 45 minute to an hour. Yet you can walk to yellow rock, which has some great surf.
Having stayed at the house for almost a hour, these are the only two photos which I like. And in both Callum is looking in a different direction.
Here He looks to the right…
And here to the left….
On Thursday, Matt got a phone call from Mike. He asked if we wanted to met him down at the breakwater for a little fishing. We showered, got dressed and headed to a local cafe for breakfast and hot chocolates. After must as to what has been happening with Ellen, I think we both needed some free time out time away from everything. We sat and ate, I read the paper and Callum tried to catch the birds the kept flying around us. After our much needed breakfast, I headed up to IGA to get some lunch items to make up some rolls for when we are out fishing. We then headed out to the breakwater, and where joined by Matt’s parents for a late lunch with Mike. Just us we started to settle in Matt’s line had a bite, however after it only ended up being seaweed. Both Matt and Mike’s lines kept getting lots of bites. Nancy and I sat in the car, because it’s overly cold, sitting on the breakwater. Plus there was a south wind. Chatting and while I knitting, I have almost finished off my baby jacket in moss st. Matt got a real bite.
"A fished" squeald Callum.
A fished it is. I couldn’t believe it. I always felt like a bad luck charm when Matt goes fishing, because everytime I go with him, we never catch anything.
Matt with our catch of the day!
Matt’s parents ended up eatting it hat night for dinner. It looked really yummy cooked and it smelt even better, I just didn’t have the guts to eat it. I felt bad. It was the only fish that Matt cought. Mike ended up getting a little pinky but being a baby it must go back into the sea for another day. Over all it was a great afternoon. I’m just glad that I wasn’t the one who had to clean it! It was all worth it. I think next time, Mike and Matt are going to head out to black nose. Lots of snapper around that part. Now snapper I like to eat. Yummo.
Seeing that winter is now really apond us , Callum and I spent the day inside playing together. It was so cold this morning that he asked to wear his longies today. I am filling like a bad mother, Its the only pair I have knit that now fits him. I think after finishing off my projects, it’s time for some longies again. We played, cars and trains before lunch. Lucy was the local law taking away any car that she felt looked tastey, followed by Callum crying and wanting his car back. By the time it was 12.30 Callum was a little over cars and was wanting lunch. We sat and ate lunch and he headed off for a nap. I cleaned up a little bit, and sat down to watch the midday movie and do some knitting. I have finished off the sleeves and I have started the neck band. I’m hoping to have the jacket finished before we move. The afternoon was followed by more cars once Callum woke up, the postman bring me a new purple dream catcher and more rain.
Once Matt got home, I don’t think the two of them left each others side. So I took some cute photos before it was Callum’s bedtime. Plus, it’s nice to show off my longies 🙂
