Home Time Soon

After talking it over with the Doctors, Im guessing that he will be home after the 9th of december. At which he will be “37 weeks”, or 6 weeks old. Or maybe even at 36 weeks, but 37 weeks seems more like the time. He still is only 34 weeks almost 35 weeks and babies don’t start to suck really well till 35 weeks and 36 weeks. Before he comes home he needs to be just 36 or over 36 weeks. He needs to be at a good weight. Over 2kgs. And he needs to be able to feed only from the breast and not his tube. It’s not a date but more like a timeline of how he should be.

I got to breastfeed him again yesterday. He did really well. 15 minutes of sucking on each side. Yet it takes him a hour because he stops and starts and gets tired. Then he wants to play and moves his eyes around the room. And he worms about. Then he sucks away again. Even thro he is not sucking much, or getting anywhere near the amount of milk from breastfeeding that he needs, but it’s a start. After a hour he was tired, so I cuddled him up into a bunny rug and rocked him to sleep. After he was asleep I topped him up by feeding him down the tube. He would never know. He did get a little more then what he should :o)

I weighed him yesterday and from Tuesday he had put on 35gms :o) One happy mummy here. He now weighs 1.635kgs. In pounds I think, and I mean I think that its, 3.6 pounds. He is getting there.
