Healthy Baby Boy

I smell like breastmilk.

Callum had his check up with the ped on friday. Everything is coming along fine, apart from Callum’s body not keeping enough Phosphate. He is now on Phosphate supplement and he is still on muliti vitamins and on iron supplements. Why is he on iron and muliti vitamins? In the last 10 weeks of pregnancy is when baby builds up there store of iron and vitamins from the mother. Because he was born early he missed out.

I asked the Ped again if there could be any permanent damage/problems for Callum later on in life, due to his prematurely. Once again I got the same anwser of that they don’t know yet. On day 12 of his life Callum had a Lumbar Puncture (Spinal Tap) Test done to see what kind of infection of the blood that he had. They also tested for a lot of things that all came back negative. His New born blood tests all back negative as well. Callum’s hearing and eye tests have all past.

Right now he is just a gorgeous, happy, healthy baby boy.

He is starting to make a lot more noises now. Lots of giggles and happy coos but lots of babbles. He can also hold his head up for long periods of time, although he doesn’t like having someone’s hand behind his head to support it.

I love every minute of being Callum’s mummy, even when I’m tired and frustrated. When I feel I’m at my wits end. Nothing makes me more happier then seeing him happy and smile. I never thought I could be so madly in love. There’s no greater feeling this. Then Being a Mum.

One happy mummy Kell :o)

“hey have u ever had another diary on here? it sounds pretty familiar”

This is the only online diary that I have. I don’t have a website. My old diary name was ^Charlie^. But that was a life time ago. For the last two years, I have been under “Collette”.

I was born prematurly. I have problems with my sight and went deaf when a child. But now, through operations, i can hear very well. I know one thing common in premies is upper respritory infections and asthma. I’m the first with the cold and the last one with it. Just keep an eye on his breathing and ask about it. Im as normal as a cucumber now! He sounds precious. Gorgous name, btw. Random note

ryn: no I haven’t tried the spray on, I’ve heard nothing good about it. I’d rather get something that’s going to last more than 2-3 days 😛 ::hugs:: Angie

Glad to hear he’s healthy and the future looks good. 🙂

Callum is a cutie! My sister’s daughter was born three monthes early. They didn’t think she’d make it and she was in the hospital for monthes but now she is a happy, healthy, typical teenager of 15 years old.
