Yesterday was a very interesting day…
It’s been made official, Matt is now a manager. He has been asked to go in the next week to get fitted for a new uniform and all the bells and whistles. It also means a little bit of a pay rise too. He got the finer details yesterday from Managment. Because he is going into a training role, ie : He is now the work place trainer. In order to keep up with the times it looks like we get to go to the UK!! There is also a chance that he may get sent to Canada or Denmark. This would be in the future bts its a good chance that it could be this year. Most of the time they fly people out to Australia, to train them up, however now they will be flying out Matt to gain knowledge and bring it back to teach everyone.
WOW
He only started there in February and has now moved into managment. I don’t think I could be any prouder of him.
He was on his way home for lunch yesterday to tell me the great news, then the car broke down. However it’s not a little break down, it’s a major break down. It’s the transmission. Luckly he got the car to Holden and I called him a taxi back. Holden rang that afternoon to tell me that its going to cost $3000, new transmission, new radiator, oils and for thire time. I almost dropped the phone. It’s bummer, I was going to pick up my camera yesterday. I’ll have to wait a little bit longer now. The money I saved for the camera is going on the car. I was a bit bummed, I was feeling really down about it. I have wanted a new camera for ages. When Matt got home we had a chat and with the new pay raise and because we have the money to fix the car and don’t need to borrow it from family, we made the dissison to get a second car. It was a lot of running around, and we both truly think now we need a second car. We haven’t had two cars for a long time. When we lived in the city it worked out great. Most of the time we never used the car. I had trains, trams and bus to uses as did Matt. Living out in the country with no bus service means that Callum and I spend a lot of time at home. We go for walks, town is a 2 hour walk away so we have only done that a couple of times. I enjoy the walk, however I am starting to really miss having my own car.
When we started to talk about it, it turned out we both had been thinking the same way. But Matt had already been in talks with someone about a car. Cheeky cheeky. It’s a friend of his Dad. So we know the car is ok. Well its not really a car, it’s a 4×4. I was a little shocked. It’s a big 4×4. Matt rang the guy and asked if he wouldn’t mind bring it around so that we could have a look at it. V came up and we all had a chat about it.
It’s been kept in very a good way and the people who own are old. They have had it since they bought it. I’ll just wait and see how things go. I don’t want to cut eggs before I get them. ;o)
After all that happening in one little tiny day, I had the best nights sleep 🙂

WOW that is just the best news. That’s a huge leap for Matt going into management. Certainly sounds like a very important job if they are sending him overseas. The car looks great too.
Warning Comment
I think management would totally have its downside (more stress and so on) but the money part of it would be great!!
