The Monkey Is In The House

Today was my first day back at work – the first time I have been in the office since the 15th of February.

Mostly I was there to sync up my laptop, because I was having major VPN issues and locking my account out of the network every five seconds (which was not helping all that much with trying to pull things off the network servers).

But I also used the time to catch up with some of the staff (including the most wonderful Jane, who has been keeping he rest of the staff informed about my progress and so on), and to update Jessie on my progress with the new application I am developing for The Hive.

(I can’t remember if I have told you about this, but I will tell you more about it later because – quite honestly – I need to make up a codename and description for it!)

Jessie was very happy with the progress, and pretty much agreed the development plan I have, as well as my working hours for the coming weeks.

On a related note, there have apparently been a few staff changes while I was off, including the fact Monique has left for a new job and The Triumvirate has changed beyond recognition (though I will maybe get into that later because it is apparently "complicated").

Jane is well, and apparently everyone missed me. Which is nice 🙂

But my most beloved and I went out for lunch, and sadly she has been feeling pretty crappy ever since. It is either just something she ate, or possibly very mild food poisoning (we treat them differently), and hopefully she will be better tomorrow.

Partly because she is my love, my life and my soul, but also because she is supposed to be travelling home on Monday (and I am not letting her travel if she is this ill).

On a slightly related note, I am not looking forward to being alone. She has been here for nigh on three months, which – given that I’ve been ill for most of it – has seemed like an eternity, and I don’t want it to come to an end.
