The government doesn’t run things.

Firstly – I guess it depends on what you mean by  in charge.

Do you mean if a woman was President? Or if the majority of the members of The Senate and of The HOR were women?

Because either way, I don’t think it would make much difference.

The left and the right are now so focussed on defeating each other instead of trying to solve the problems of the country that nothing ever gets done, unless it is something so insignificant that it doesn’t change anything anyway. 

The idea that women would do anything better than men is laughable – they would be equally partisan, equally divisive and equally intent on opposing any law that doesn’t fit in to their own personal bubble of life. Of course, the idea that men would do anything better than women is equally laughable – the entire system is so screwed up and so confrontational that it is very unlikely that anyone – regardless of race, creed, colour, sex, sexuality or height – would be able to do anything better. 

And if Obama were a woman instead of a man, she would still be locked in the same partisan based idiocy that has seen the US engulfed in political chaos for the last few years, because the Republican women who filled The Senate and HOR would oppose her just as much as they oppose Obama.

So – to sum up – it doesn’t matter what sex is in charge, the political situation wouldn’t change a bit because American politics (hell – even British politics has got this way as well) is now all about showing how your opponent is wrong, and how they would make a worse job of it than you are doing now. Or, if you aren’t in power, it is about showing how your opponent is wrong, and how they are making a worse job of it than you would if you were in power. 

Men, women – it doesn’t matter.
