NaNoWriMo Disaster Recovery!
So – when I last wrote, I was in somewhat of a bad position, having switched stories after the first week of the contest. This took me from a word count of around 15,500 to a word count of around 0 (or, to be more precise – exactly 0).
But it seems that I did make the right decision. Because in the last three days (Thursday, Friday, Saturday) I have not only managed to get back to my original word count, but tonight I managed to surpass it, reaching around 17,500.
This story is proving a great deal easier to write than the other one, and – more importantly – it is keeping me entertained and it is actually fun writing it.
Because – as I said before – I write for fun. Not for money, not for work, not for profit, but for fun.
And if I am not having fun, then what the hell is the point of doing it? I could be out shooting demons, dancing with Princesses or sword fighting with bandits.
Or – you know – I could be playing video games 🙂
So, all in all, I am feeling better that – in the next twenty days – I will reach the 50,000 words that is my goal, and I might even finish the story – who knows?
