Haven’t we seen this before?

A few decades ago, we saw Russia and the USA fighting their own personal war in Afghanistan, using local agents as their proxies

That went so well that it gave birth to Al Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden, which – you have to admit – kind of came back to bite the USA in the ass in a pretty big way.

You would think that that 3,000 dead on their own shores would teach them a lesson about using other people to fight their wars.

But apparently – no. The USA is incapable of learning the most basic lesson of all – people do not like being used as puppets by "super powers" and generally get pissed off when they are used as such.

And you would think that launching a war in the middle east based on dubious, dodgy evidence that "clearly" points in one direction would also be something they’d be wary of, given the dubious and dodgy evidence they used to invade and occupy Iraq.

But once again – John Kerry (the new Colin Powell) is telling us what is obvious, and what is clear, and what is common sense. And doing it in such a way that suggests anyone who disagrees with him is probably secretly working for Assad, and that anyone who says he could be mistaken will be greeted with the response "Well if you like him so much, why don’t you marry him?"

And maybe he is right – but for everyone who is sucking at the teet of Kerry’s information without giving it due diligence, ask yourselves this :-

Assad has been routinely killing his people for a fair long while now, and the UK and US have shown no inclination to stop him. So why in the name of sanity would he suddenly do something so large, so obvious and something that clearly would require the US and UK to respond?

Yes – he might actually be completely insane, and have no regard for the consequences of his actions.

But generally evil dictators don’t get to be evil dictators without being quite smart.

So even if the evidence does clearly support the fact there was a chemical attack, does it clearly support the fact it was Assad?

And, more to the point, does the US care? Or do they just want to jump on this as a pretext, much like 9/11 was a pretext for the invasion and occupation of Iraq?

And will they ever realise that all of this was caused by their policy of meddling in the first place?

I am guessing…….. no.
