Day 15 I think
Woke up early, even for me, at 4:30 am, and went and fed the horses. It was 37 and raining. Not complaining about the rain never complain about rain. In the barn feeding. Heard the side-by-side coming. Chance pulled up. I walked to the door.
Chance: I couldn’t find you
Me: I should have left a note from now on. I’ll leave a note on the board in the kitchen. Since you’re here, you can help
Lesson 52,556,4334 I’ve learned in the last 15 days if you change the normal routine let the kid know.
Had breakfast, Chance loaded the dishwasher and started it.
Decided since Chance is grounded till Monday and the weather is rainy and cold, we would just hang out at the house as long as I can take it. I always feel like I need to be busy there is so much to do on this place.
Chance messed around on the piano for a couple of hours, and He learned a new song. We decided to go check on some heifers a few miles from the house
Me: Buddy, get dressed. I want to go check the heifers
Chance: Why can’t I go like this we will be in the truck
Me: at least sweets and socks. It is still a little cold
On the way out of the blue
Chance: Are you mad at mom
Me: A little she shouldn’t have just left
Chance: Are you mad at me
Me: no, you didn’t do anything
Chance: You know she will be back
Me: I hope your right
Chance: she will. You don’t know.
I left it there he was, getting upset. We finished and headed home to have hot dogs and fries his pick. Have you felt like something is coming to a head, and you know you’re not ready?
It’s a big deal what you two are going through. There will be crazy roller coasters of thoughts and emotions, as I’m sure you already know. But I promise you, whatever comes next, you will be okay and your world will settle down.
