The difference between me

brandishing new impiety i numbed my pride

a public life spun more tender than shying surf at the turn of a friendly tide

and as i saw your destroyer headed for my flank

my heart sank

a duck sat

while a wild goose chased

but you failed to strike home

because you never did figure out which house was my place

i see you haven’t changed a bit

you always did run a knot too fast

gushing out like an open wound while i was still trying to tie my sail to the mast

do you remember when you asked me why i always finish last?

it’s my favorable wind i said and it’s mostly been kind

but when it’s blowing on my back it is no friend of mine

Aaaah I love the last two lines of this as much as I love the plethora of notes I received from you this afternoon hahaha. they honestly brighten my day just that much more, thank you. Your description of your CN Tower experience was exactly how I imagine it would be. i’ve never gone and don’t think I ever will. ugh. peace,
