PHOTO ENTRY-THEN & NOW-TORONTO ONT.CANADA
I spent a lot of time today online, going through a Then and Now photo blog of Queen St in Toronto, Ont, Canada. It’s interesting, because there are photo’s of the early 1900’s and someone took photo’s of the exact same spot now and in some photo’s the change is extreme, in other’s, very little change, you can still see the exact same buildings, it’s rather quite interesting. I’m gonna post pics of some of them.
Seeing pics of Queen St in Toronto interested me because I grew up on Queen and Pape Ave in Toronto, lived there til I was 7 1/2 yrs old. Maybe this is just interesting to me because it’s where I was born. I’m sure it would be more interesting seeing photo’s of areas where you all grew up. But aside from that, I think it’s just interesting to see the old buildings, cars, streets, and people and see the changes in the last 100 years in the same exact spot.
Anyways, I’ll post my favourite pics and there are a lot because I liked them all, so hope you don’t get bored..

I find stuff like this fascinating… 791-797 QUEEN ST – this one is showing so much subsidence I was convinced it would have been bulldozed… but no, still there! Amazing stuff Victorian construction!

I love looking at old pics compared with new like this. And I’m so jealous that you guys still have trolleys! I think you and Mike should move to Toronto because it looks like a cool place to live.

Our local newspapers sometimes do “then and now” pictorials. You have to find a landmark on occasion to realize it is the same place.
