General thoughts
Today, I woke up very sore. From experience, I knew that the best way alleviate soreness from working out was to work out some more. I did not have to shower up and head to the gym…I just had to roll out of bed. I got on the Balance board and Low and behold, I lost .9lbs. Again, I did not really eat a lot yesterday, and I was happy to have lost a little weight. The game gave me a little celebration…and inside, I was doing back flips. I do not expect it to continue starting tomorrow, of course…since tomorrow I switch to night workouts. Today, I measured my weight in the morning before I ate. Tomorrow, I will have eaten at least two full meals and will be drinking (soft drinks/water) throughout that day. I doubt I will lose weight tomorrow, but the next day will be a good measuring stick for the rest of the week. Since after this, everything gets a little repetitive, I will not be listing all the activities separately, I will just summarize my feelings and stats. I will give a week in review every seven days.
Strength
Like the day before, I started with strength exercises. The push-up/plank exercise is my least favorite, and the exercise I need the most work in, so I started there first. I could not bear to get rug burn on my knees again. Rug burn is pure unadulterated torture. I am fairly certain I dropped a few times…in fact the simu-trainer even said, "maybe you should do less repetitions." I agree. Until I can do at least six properly, I think I will have to build this one up slowly. I unlocked a whole bunch of new workouts, just while doing my strength exercises. I unlocked the pushup challenge. Yeah, I am not trying that one until I can do one whole push-up by myself. Small goals, kiddo. Small goals.
Aerobics
I have absolutely no complaints about the aerobics today, except that I wish there was more to do. I did the long run today, and when I was through, the game unlocked the "island lap" basic run. That just means I will be doing more running in place tomorrow. I am thrilled. I want to burn calories, not just improve my posture. I also unlocked rhythm boxing. I could not resist trying it. Today, I was relatively uncoordinated, but I am sure I will do better tomorrow. The boxing did not feel like much of a work out. I heard a professional boxing instructor developed the program.
Balance Games
Again, I was looking forward to breaking up my workout with some of the balance games. I still have not made it down the balance bubble river. However, I did make it all the way across the tight ropewalk. By the end of the balance games, I was looking forward to yoga and grateful for the short break the balance games provided.
Yoga
This game is doing the impossible. It is making me fall in love with yoga. I tried the new yoga pose today called the palm tree. Man! It was difficult to keep my balance. One thing I like about yoga is that even though its very difficult to begin with, I know it will get easier with time…And once it gets easier, it will be more enjoyable. The game says so, and I believe it.
