Alive! Huzzah!

My lack of writing lately is not for lack of wanting to– it’s more for a lack of alive-ness. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, she has done it again. The fantastic Addie has been dreadfully ill!

Truly, I do exaggerate a bit. (Hopefully you have come to expect this from me). I was rather sick, though, and completely lacked energy to do much except snorgle Porter. A bunch of friends came over to play Diplomacy, and in the middle of the game, I just decided to faint, I guess. This seems to be a common occurrence lately. Hrm.  I spent pretty much the rest of the day unable to get off of the floor.

Bryan brought in a mattress for me to lie on, and I forced Porter to cuddle me for most of the rest of the day.  Maggie (Bryan’s mom, a nurse), also came over to take my blood pressure/temperature/all that jazz.  I didn’t have a fever, but I had RECOCKULOUSLY low blood pressure.  I had to miss babysitting, and yoga the next morning, but I figure both of those are not the best idea when you faint every time to stand up.

But don’t fear, ladies and gents!  I am quite well, now.  Lots of sleep, in addition to extra protein in my diet seems to have done the trick.  And no, it’s not anemia again.  I’ve been taking my iron supplements.  ^^

Porter is doing well.  He got a milk jug for a toy today (one of Guide Dogs approved toys, believe it or not), and has been playing with it constantly.  He’ll pick it up and prance around with it, push it around the floor, and be generally rowdy.  It’s really cute.  He’ll also completely crash for an hour from all of his prancings, and then wake up and play with it more.  It is super-cute.  Here are pictures (in case you haven’t had enough already).

What a cutie!

I’m seriously trying not to turn my diary into a Porter Devotion Book, but it’s hard.  He’s such a large part of my life right now.  As in, my life literally revolves around him.  He is the reason that I wake up when I do (not letting a puppy out in the morning can have disasterous and smelly side effects), he is what gets me outside (an unwalked puppy bounces more than checks in our current economic situation), he is the reason I have to be home for lunch and dinner, he is what keeps me outside of the house for no longer than four hours at a time, and he is the reason that I get my furry snorgles.

Bryan gives me unfurry snorgles, but I do think that people need a healthy balance of both to make their lives complete.  Yay furry snorgles!

I’m also trying to take a lot of pictures because he’s growing so FAST!

Also, my mommy instinct is satisfied with this little bugger.  My body is all "babybabybabybaby," and frankly, body, that’s just not an option now.  So I have a puppy to take care of that.  The one issue is that I actually kind of act likehe’s my baby.  :S  I call myself "Mom" and "Mommy" around him, and carry him around everywhere.

Hehe, my mom doesn’t help.  She calls him her "grandpuppy" and buys him little presents, and pretty much treats him like I do.  She is my co-conspirator, teehee!

Well, other than being pretty ill, and still having a cute puppy, I don’t have much news.  Hope all is well with you folks.

Tootles!

How could nobody comment on this?! Porter is just KILLING me! What a sweet little love! He is BEAUTIFUL. My Mom and I call my dogs her granddoggles, too. 🙂 I love your front page – sounds like we would really get along! I don’t write in OD consistently or often, mostly I’m here for friends that are here, and I supply the occasional rant, confessional or questionnaire.

(drives me nuts how short these OD notes are!) Anyhoo, point being, you should watch me, as I plan on watching you because you seem awesome, AND I’m fully equipped for being riotously entertaining and/or insightfully ponderous! 😀 Thanks for your note, btw. 🙂 **Heather
