Earthquake Again

I just finished chatting with mum on skype, Yaya was all anxious to see the Toto on TV because it is the year end bonus round where the 1st prize is like 2 billion. He bought like 14 numbers shared with 14 colleagues!

Then I feel the shake again! Very quickly rush down to the lower floor, unlock the door and stay at the corner. The shake lasted for like 1 mins+, the sliding doors will all trembling, knocking against each other. I can feel that Yaya was also very worried, we just hug each other behind the main door. Then it was over.. I quickly on the TV and wait to see if there is any updates.. We heard that there is an 6.7 earthquake at Southern Taiwan.

Following the safety measures – open the door, switch of any gas, hide in a corner of the main pillar. We start to wonder if we should run out of the house.. but then the neighbours din even open their doors. The Tv was still reporting about the previous earthquake! Then it stoped again. And Tl and I was like giddy already, perhaps no more earthquake but I feel like the whole hse was shaking. eeek.. no more high storey.

The news reported 2 degree earthquake. Actually a small case to the locals. The southern part was suffering more damages. It is 2 years anniversary of the Asia Tsunami, and the international media was so quick to report the earthquake here. I saw fires, house tumbled down..people screaming out of hotels, houses, people trap in lifts.. *sigh* we were so so fortunate in Singapore.

Two strong quakes rock Taiwan

TAIPEI – A major earthquake measuring magnitude 7.1 rocked Taiwan Tuesday, geologists said, rattling high-rise buildings and disrupting telephone services.

Authorities said there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.

The US Geological Survey said the quake was 10 kilometres (six miles) deep, 57 miles from Kao-hsiung, Taiwan. The Taiwan central weather bureau reported
there were two quakes.

It said the stronger tremor struck at 8:26 pm (1226 GMT), with its epicentre 23 kilometres (14 miles) southwest of Hengchun in Pingtung county in the southern most tip of Taiwan. It originated 22 kilometres under the sea.

The second one hit about eight minutes later with its epicentre 12 kilometres west of Fangliao, in Pingtung. It originated 21 kilometres underground.
