Freshman 15 :(

As my second year of university is coming to an end this April, I actually stepped on the scale and I’ve gained the Freshman 15! Granted, I gained it over two years instead of all in one … but that is still way unhealthy and I need to lose it before next year! I mean, I knew I was gaining weight … haha I don’t BS myself … but I didn’t know HOW MUCH. And I know WHY I was gaining the weight … again, I don’t BS myself … but I just didn’t nip it in the butt right away. Sooo this torture week will be over by Wednesday evening. Then I have a two week break till my final exam and then school is DONE! So … I have to commit to starting to exercise and eat well after my second-last exam. You know, I gained like 7 pounds my first year but then I lost it between end of term and July. Then in July I was sick all month and I had to take these pills, and you had to eat a lot otherwise you’d be nauseous, but then I got used to eating like that, and just didn’t stop afterward. So actually it’s been mostly this year that’s been terrible weight-wise. Buttt … I already have encouragement … I bought a really nice form-fitting dress … so that’s my motivation to lose the weight … and actually I already bought that Insanity workout. You know … I tried it out and … oh my … what a workout! I love working out … I guess I just lost sense of it this year … Oh. And we’re having students again this summer. That was also part of the reason I started gaining weight. See I don’t cook … so my mum would cook … portion everything … but all the students were guys … and I’d get their same portion … and like I said, that was fine for the medicine, but I didn’t HAVE to continue afterward. So I have to start taking control over my meals or just not eating with the guys. Oh we’re having 3 Brazilians and 1 Mexican (Yum lol). I think they’re 29, 26, 24 and 21 years old … so hopefully the 21 year old is nice! Uhh … not too excited about the older ones, they always creep on me. At least I can honestly say I didn’t gain the Freshman 15 by eating KD every night and binge-drinking. Lol. The food content was right, the portions weren’t! It isn’t the end of the world. And I’m capable of losing it ^_^.

Consider weight training. Most chicks don’t consider it thinking they will “bulk up” but the truth is your metabolism burns hot for up to 10 hrs after training with weights and only 2 hours with cardio. I’m 28 and can eat whatever I want, and we’re talking like a whole pizza, 2 milkshakes, and 4 hamburgers in one day and gain nothing as a result of weight training for the last 8 years. And I’m notbulky at all, but I do have AMAZING muscle definition and abs. Again, most chicks don’t actually realize that it’s 10 times smarter to lose weight that way than by excerising your butt off with extreme cardio.
