Chitrangada was a Princess (Rajkumari) of Manipur in India.  She was the only child of her father and since he had no son, she took the role of the heir.  She dressed like a man and fought like a man and her skills on teh battle field were unmatched.  Then she met Prince Arjun who was also a great warrior.  She fell in love and asked to be turned into a beautiful woman to catch Arjun’s eyes.  She did indeed get Arjun to fall in love with her but she was no longer a warrior who protected her people.  Then one day when her people were being attacked, she turned back into her warrior self and fought of the attackers. Arjun still loved her and Chitrangada realized that people are going to love her for herself and not for looks.
