Wednesday Afternoon

I guess I do not really have anything “earthshaking” to write about, except for the “day-to-day” things. I just got off of the phone with my bank. I had been placed on hold for what seemed like forever. I was only calling to ask for my account balance. The recording, after awhile states that if you press “98”, you are able to leave a message. I did that, only to receive an odd busy signal, as if the circuits might be busy. I will try again later.

My worker came this morning. She is a pretty good worker. We get along well. After she left, I read several pages of my textbook. I finished one chapter, then began the chapter on Body Mechanics and Positioning. After that, I began to get all of my supplies ready for tomorrow’s appointment with the neurologist. My scheduled pick-up for transportation to the appointment is 8:45 am, so I have to get up pretty early. My coffee is ready to go. I poured my medications. I laid out clothing and other things. I will have to go to bed early tonight. It sounds as if the maintenance staff might be working on the water lines or possibly a drain. There was a leak, somewhere, over the weekend. Bear is back to doing physical therapy. He said that it was painful. They want him to undergo a knee replacement. He does not want to have it. I was unable to eat my home-delivered meal. It was not at all appealing. Most of the time they are palatable. Sometimes they are not. I suppose it could simply be a matter of taste or preference.

Yesterday morning was a real hoot. I had time to kill before my ride showed up for my appointment. Another tenant came out of the building with a grocery cart. I guess she was waiting for someone. Anyway, my driver was showing us her body piercings, as it was not yet time to take me. I complimented her on how pretty the jewels were, and how things like that can really “brighten up” a person. The tenant piped up and said to me that I should get a nose piercing and lip piercing. I explained to the tenant that I did like the way they looked on the driver, but that it did not necessarily mean that I want the same thing. She has been trying to get under my skin and has been itching for an argument for some time now. I refuse to play her game. Later on, right before I had to leave, the tenant was giving her rant about how tough her dad was on her, and that he taught her new things. I replied by mentioning that later in life, it is always good to know how to do things. She contradicted me by saying that it wasn’t that. She said that his actions while she was growing up, is why she is presently so hard on herself. At that point, I was ready to throw my hands up in the air and say, “Whatever”. Again, that is exactly what she wants me to do. I do not understand what the game is, but I am not playing it. Oh, and about the oatmeal cookies that I baked as a project for the veterans? I was told yesterday, by one of the veterans to put raisins in them, next time. First of all, some people do not like raisins in their baked goods. Secondly, I am not a people pleaser (although I have been called that by other tenants). Lastly, I am not a bakery. I will bake what I want, when I want. End of story.
