O!N!E!! (photos from party added!)
>
Just stopped by to tell you all that one year ago Sammy was born.
One year ago, I held him for a few minutes then didn’t seem him for over 24 hours.
One year ago, I was told he couldn’t breathe and there was a good chance he wouldn’t make it.
One year ago today, he was given the most important test of his life, that would change our lives forever.
I can’t imagine life without him.
Whether you have a home birth or hospital birth, assisted or unassisted, midwife or OB, vaginal or cesarian… newborn screening is NECESSARY! If it wasn’t for newborn screening, Sammy would be mentally retarded on his first birthday.
Well, here’s a facebook link to the photos of sammy eating his cake… yeah, too lazy to add the photos here. Kenny’s brother and his fiance took lots of photos and i’ll add them as I go.. If you can’t see the photos, add me as a friend.

I totally second that! Or third it I guess. I really wish it was manditory to test for a wider spectrum of newborn illnesses. Thankfully lots of states are taking the initiative and expanding what they do test for.
