Mom’s Visit
My mom has been here for a visit since a week this past thursday and it has been great having her here. I really miss having her around. I can tell she’s bummed about leaving this Sunday to head back home and I admit I wish she wasn’t leaving either. I have always wanted for her to be close with my kids like I was with my grandparents. I know it’s not going to be the same because she’s so far away, but I really hope someday she can live closer. My mil has been out of town while my mom has been here which has been really nice. I know that sounds mean, but we are together WAY too much. I really thought after buying her house that she would want to move on and get her own place (that was the original plan), but obviously things change. Anyway I really wish my mom could stay longer, but she has to go back to work and I guess I have to get back into my old routine without her being here. I really hope she’ll make an effort more often to come here now that she sees I’m happy living here and she sees that things here are good. This is the first time she has been here since we moved 4 years ago. Not because she hasn’t wanted to come, but it’s very expensive and work has been slow for such a long time. Plus, I have been fortunate enough to come back every year in the summer for a visit, so she really hasn’t needed to come here to see me because she knew I’d be back in the summer. I think now that we have bought a house and have been fixing it up, she decided it was time to come and see our life here. I’m glad she’s been able to be here and see the kids and see my house and hopefully she’ll be able to plan a trip again soon.
In other news my anniversary is coming up on the 9th. 11 years! It’s hard to believe it has been that long. I look at Dave though and I feel so blessed to have him. He’s my rock. And at the end of this month my baby girl Riley will be turning 2. I cannot believe she is getting so big already. It really makes me want to have another one, but I think Dave is done. He works so hard and he’s tired and I really think he wants to have energy for the two he has. If I have anymore it might kill him. lol
Keira will be starting 2nd grade this coming Tuesday and that to me is just crazy. Where did the time go? My girls are getting big WAY too fast.
Ok I’ll need to write more later. It’s 1am and I’m exhausted.
Wow! They are growing fast! And congrats on 11 years. You still in Canada? I’m glad your mom got to visit.
