I’m here and I’m tired.
It’s been raining here the past few days and it just makes me want to sleep. All I’ve done this week is go to the store for things I needed to cook dinner and then come home and cook dinner, clean, etc. I don’t mind cooking, but Dave’s mom DOESN’T cook like me. I used to cook enough for atleast a couple days, so I wouldn’t have to cook everyday. Well, Dave’s mom is used to having a NEW meal everyday. She only cooks enough for one meal and even if there’s leftovers they sit there in the fridge! I’m SO not used to cooking everyday and that seems to be all I think about now is what to make for dinner. Thank God for the internet since I’ve been looking up recipes almost everyday. And tonight’s menu is : Spaghetti with Prego. lol I’m so tired of cooking! I do like to cook, but with a new meal everyday, I’m going to run out of ideas awfully fast. Anyone have any good recipes they can share with me?
Dave’s brother was here for about a week, but he went back to Calgary to see a hand specialist (he got hurt on the job). His girlfriend was here the whole week too, but now she’s back home with her folks since T left. I don’t mind the company, but it’s nice to have the house a little quieter and it’s definitely nice to be able to walk around in my pj’s again. lol I just don’t feel comfortable doing it when they’re here, you know?
So Dave’s back in study mode, which is super annoying. He’s studying to get his CA which is like the Canadian version of the CPA. He actually gets a more condensed version of the test because he already has his CPA, so he won’t be studying for terribly long. The test is in October and then after that——– They want him to go for his Master’s!!!! I was so excited when Dave was done with his CPA because I didn’t think he’d have to study anymore and he’d have more time for Keira and me, but now all this other crap they want him to do. Yes, I know it’ll be great for his career and they’re paying for all his expenses, but I just want my husband not to have his face stuck in a book all the time. Oh well, I guess I’ll have to deal. I just this time around it’s going to be harder for me because I don’t have my friends and family around to be with while he’s studying. I guess this means time to find some friends fast! I actually signed up for FaceBook and I found an Abbotsford moms’ group which just started up. We’re going to try and meet up sometime this month, so that should be fun. I also have been talking to a few moms on there that live nearby and they’ve asked if I wanted to meet up with them sometime. So that’ll be fun too.
We were supposed to go to a couple BBQ’s this weekend, but one has already been cancelled due to the high chances of rain. The other one is early in the afternoon, so we’ll see what happens with that one. If not Dave and I might just take Keira somewhere indoors to play and then go to dinner and a movie in the evening. Ohh another date night maybe for me!
i’ve got a great recipe for sweet and sour chicken if you want it…

I have a good one! But it till be a lot, enough for a few days. I call it taco bake. – 2-3 lbs. of ground beef – big glass cake pan – a can of pam non stick spray – 2 packages of shredded cheddar – A small package of velveeta (I like the mexi melt kind, but original is good too) – a pack of large tortillas. – 2 packages of taco seasoning Okay, first you want to cook the meat in a pan, drain. then let it simmer in taco seasoning. (both packages). Then, you take the pam and spray your pan. (Oh preheat the oven to 350). Line it with two tortillas. Take a third tortilla and fold it into fours, and tear it at the folds. Place two of the fours over the places where the tortillas don’t cover. (On the sides) Lay half of your ground beef over the tortillas. (Minus the leftover taco seasoning juice.) then cut your velveeta into fairly thick slices and cover as much as you can over the beef. Take two more tortilla and place it over the beef, use your other two tortilla halves like you did before. Put the rest of your beef over the tortillas. cover it with shredded cheese. Bake until all the cheese is melted. Then you eat it!

Schooling is difficult on both the student and the spouse. It’s so time consuming. I wanted Kevin to hurry up and be done too. We cook different things nightly too lol. Gah, if I tried having Kevin eat something twice in a row he’d freak!
