WOOT!

1.  Woot!  Batman Begins and Land of the Dead, two of my favorite summer movies, released on DVD in the same week!

2.  Woot!  Foreign accents.  The mom of one of my students is German, and although Germany isn’t exactly one of the most exotic places in the world, I was having the hardest time concentrating on what she was saying to me yesterday because I was smitten with the way she talked.  Anyone who sounds different than I do is cool.

3.  Woot! Bon Jovi’s Living on a Prayer.  I wouldn’t have been caught dead listening to this song when it was first out back in "the day," but it came on the radio this afternoon and that slow moving locomotive base line had my booty shakin’.  It made me want to run to the nearest drug store and buy a huge bottle of hairspray.

4.  Woot!  for XM radio.  See #3.

5.  Woot!  My fantasy football team is in first place.

6.  Woot!  My house is baby proof, and the nursery (I hate that word) is painted, furnished, and decorated.  Procrastinators, we are not.

7.  Woot! for Michael Keaton.  Another diarist mentioned MIchael Keaton a few days back and it made me think –  he is due for a huge comeback.  Back in the 80s, he was The Man.  It’d be great to see his career take the same path that Bill Murray’s has been on as of late.
