ooh witchy woman, she got the moon in her eyes

Last weekend at the movies (Fever Pitch, in case anyone cares) we caught the trailer for Bewitched.  Normally, this is the type of movie I would despise for a couple of  reasons:

1.  It’s a movie based on an old TV show.  This is rarely a good idea.  Hollywood, please stop the madness.
2.  Written and directed by Nora Ephron.  While she is responsible for two pretty good romantic comedies, Sleepless in Seattle and When Harry Met Sally, her more recent work has been dreadful (Lucky Numbers, Hanging Up, You’ve Got Mail, Michael).

Based upon what I saw in the trailer, Ms. Ephron has at least tried going at this film at a different angle, albeit a cheesy angle – a TV producer is casting a new version of Bewitched and accidentally casts an actual witch.

What is really drawing me into this movie is Nicole Kidman.  Nicole wearing those perky working-woman business suits.  Close-ups of Nicole wiggling that cute, narrow nose and upper lip just like in the original TV show. Those long legs hanging over the side of that broom in the poster.  June can’t get here soon enough… 😉

Excuse me while I go take a cold shower.

I haven’t seen the preview, but I did see the poster for it the last time I was at the movies. (Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy) I want to see it, too!

Wow, the user image is quite adorable! Is that you from years gone by? 🙂 Re: What prompted me actually writing about jealousy wasn’t so much the incident itself as my reaction to it. I had just read an entry where a girl said that it wasn’t that she didn’t trust her boyfriend, she just didn’t trust other women. That defense has always pissed me off.

What she really meant is that she doesn’t trust herself enough to take a chance. I don’t know if you get what I mean by that, but on the possibility that you do get it, I won’t further explain for now.
