real life and a new place.

I have been so super busy this week! I worked a lot and of course, there was Thanksgiving. I went to my grandma’s and we all had dinner. Then I came home and looked through ads and we went to sleep for about 3 hours. My sister and I got up at 2:30 am and went SHOPPING! It was so much fun! We went to Kohl’s, Walmart, Target, the mall, and Belk.

I got SO much stuff. Matt and I decided to use the money in our joint account to get the things we’ll need for the apartment now, while it’s on such a good sale. We got:

– 4 towels (for $6.99), and 2 hand towels (they are chocolate brown and a light blue)
– 2 bath rugs (different sizes for $9.99)
– 4 egyption cotton pillows (for $9.99) and 2 cheaper pillows for shams (for $3.99)
– 450 thread count sheets with 2 pillowcases (for $34.99)
– a bedding set, with comforter, 4 pillow shams (2 euro ones), bedskirt, and 2 throw pillows (for $79.99)
– dinnerware (which is white and blue, we’re going to do french country with white, blue and yellow, i think), 2 sets of 16 pieces–so 8 settings with plate, saucer, bowl and mug (for $24.99 each)
– flatware, 16 settings with a 5-piece serving set (for $47.99)
– cutlery, a 20-piece set with 8 steak knives (for $19.99)
– cookware, a 23-piece set with SO much stuff–2 saucepans, a fryer, 2 non-stick skillets, 2 stockpots, a wok, a strainer, a 3-piece spoon set, a lasgana dish and rack, I can’t even remember what else (for $59.99)
– glassware, a 16-piece set (with 8 high glasses and 8 low ones) (for $17.99)
– a glass set with 6 wine-shaped glasses (but heavier and bigger) and a glass pitcher (for $17.99)

I also bought myself and my sister (for her birthday) a set of 1/4 carat diamond earrings for $74.99! They are regular $250.00! I couldn’t pass that deal up… I bought Matt a GPS for Christmas and a case to go with it. I think he will really like it. I also picked up the Sex and the City DVD for $9 and a couple things to give my friends for Christmas.

I want to write so badly about what I got Shelby for Christmas, but I can’t because she’ll read this! She already knows about the earrings because… ugh. long story.

Anyway, so Mom and Jackie said that I could have the old kitchen table they have, and Dad and Kim said they saved their old loveseat and recliner for me. So, really we need a couch, some end tables for the living room, nightstands for the bedroom, a bed frame, and a chest of drawers for the bedroom. That’s it.

And Mom and Jackie know someone who has a mobile home (ugh, I know. but they say that it doesn’t look like one at all and it’s really nice) for rent for $425 a month. They would keep the utilities in their name and we would just pay them (well, Mom and Jackie think that I would just pay them because they don’t know about Matt yet), and since the guy has a lanscaping business, he would keep the yard up for me. Sounds like a really good deal to me, especially as it’s $100 less than the apartment I like a month and I’m sure, much bigger. Also, Jackie said he’d give me $100 a month towards rent for 6 months to help. If that’s the case, I may just go ahead and move in. I’m going to ride by there sometime this week and look at the outside. The people are in Hawaii on vacation, so I can’t find out any more specifics or go look at it until they get back next week.

Also, I told my dad and stepmom about Matt this weekend. They were really supportive (after my dad got over that whole "get away from my daughter" thing). Kim was getting all excited about "what did you buy and what do you need!?" and stuff. 😛 We talked about the shopping we did on Friday and she was asking all sorts of questions about him. Dad was just sort of sulking for a while, lol, and then he told me to find out some stuff about Matt in regards to the job. He said he’ll call this week and find out who he knows that still works at the DC Matt will be transferring to and see what strings he can pull. That’s nice. Matt will have to resubmit his paperwork pretty soon, so he’ll do so before it runs out, that way they’ll definitely have it.

This is all so exciting! Hopefully, he’ll be here really soon! 😀 We also decided that instead of me flying out for a long weekend or so, I’ll just fly out for a week or so when he gets ready to transfer. I’ll spend a few days there meeting his mom, helping him pack, and getting ready for the move, and then we’ll make the cross-country drive together. A roadtrip! 😀 How exciting!

So yeah… I’m busy. But so happy 🙂
